Michael Falcon was flying high, at least before the following hand, but has now dropped back down to below starting stack with Korea’s Yo Seb Rhee the beneficiary.
Rhee limped from under-the-gun and Falcon made it 450 to go from middle position picking up two customers with the button and Rhee making the call.
The flop fell a monochrome and Rhee checked it over to Falcon, who continuation bet 1,100. While this was enough to get the button to bow out Rhee made the call to take play heads-up to the turn.
This saw both players check and the hit the river to bring in four to a flush. Rhee checked it over to Falcon once more and the Danish player reached for chips and splashed out a bet of 2,500.
This sent Rhee deep into the tank, where he remained until there were just 3 seconds left on the shot clock before he slid out the call.
Falcon turned over for ace-high no diamonds, meaning Rhee’s was enough to win the Korean a decent sized pot.
Catching the action on the tail end of a big pot with 7,000 in the middle and the board showing , Hoang Long Do checked out of the big blind and Timofey Asmolov bet 3,050 from early position. Do check-raised to 11,000 and Asmolov quickly announced the call, then immediately mucked when Do rolled over for a flopped full house.
The next hand, Michael Falcon raised to 400 from the button and Do called in the small blind, as did Van Sang Nguyen in the big blind. The flop fell and all three players checked. Do bet the turn for 1,000 and Nguyen folded while Falcon raised it up to 2,500. That won the pot without showdown as Do folded, and Falcon flashed for top pair, top kicker and the nut flush draw.
We have a new challenger with Hoang Long Do taking his seat to bring the field up to 15. We caught Do in action in a three-way hand against John Plater and a player in the big blind and picked up the action on a flop of just as Plater, sitting under-the-gun, fired out a bet of 1,600 into a pot of roughly 3,000.
Do made a quick call, as did the big blind and the hit the turn. The big blind checked, Plater fired for 1,800, Do called and the big blind folded.
The river saw Plater fire the third barrel, making it 2,100 to go and while Do looked interested he eventually elected to let it go.
Eager to get his tournament off to the right start Edward Yam opened the action to 275 from under-the-gun with Simon Hermann in the small blind the only caller.
Both players checked the flop and after Hermann checked for a second time on the turn Yam fired for 300, which Hermann quickly called.
The river brought checks from both players and Hermann rolled over to scoop the small pot as Yam tossed his hand away.
Edward Yam raised to 275 from the cutoff and Georges Georgiou called on the button. Hoa Thinh Nguyen three-bet to 1,000 out of the big blind and both of his opponents called. On the flop, Nguyen continued for 2,000 and received a call by Yam and a fold by Georgiou.
The on the turn was checked by both players while Nguyen's bet of 3,000 after the river forced a fold from Yam.
Three further players sat down and as many participants do have the last name Nguyen, as Van Sang Nguyen has entered. The other two new players are Michael Falcon and Simon Burns.
Jun Obara's raise from under the gun was called by Georges Georgiou in the big blind. On a flop of , Georgiou checked and called a continuation bet worth 500 before checking again the turn. Obara's second barrel for 1,200 was called before the third bet of 4,000 on the river ultimately forced a check-fold from Georgiou.
We are now up to 11 players split over two tables in the PSF High Roller Shot Clock with Timofey Asmolov, John Plater and Edward Chun Ho Yam taking their seats with Plater winning his seat via a recently concluded live satellite.
Two of the three new arrivals, Asmolov and Plater are seated on table one, with Yam seated on table two, however he arrived too late to take part in the following hand, taking his seat between Maxim Sorokin and George Georgiou as the two battled it out from the blinds.
Sorokin (small blind) opened to 300 with Georgious making the call in the big blind with the flop coming down .
Sorokin continuation bet 300 but was quickly re-raised to 700 by Georgiou, which after 15-seconds Sorokin called.
The [ turn saw Sorokin check the action over to Georgiou, who reached for two pink 500 chips, then decided to add a little more and made it 1,200 to go. While he looked sorely tempted Sorokin eventually elected to let it go.
Hoa Thinh Nguyen and Bach Hoang Nguyen signed up at almost the same time and took their seat over on table one. The latter defended his big blind against a raise to 250 by Georges Georgiou before checking the flop. After the turn, Nguyen checked again and Georgiou's bet of 350 won the pot without showdown.
Both Nguyen's were then moved tables as further players signed up and both tables are now running five-handed with the names of the new entries to come shortly.
