Colonese Gets Curi To Show

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Fabio Colonese opened with a raise to 2,000 and he was called by Carlos Curi in middle position, Alberto Santana on the button, and the big blind as well.

The flop came {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and action checked to Curi who bet 2,500. Only Colonese called.

Both players then checked on the {10-Clubs} turn. The river was the {Q-Clubs} and Colonese fired out a bet of 5,000. Curi thought for second then reraised, making it 15,000. Colonese then thought for a while and folding, showing his {9-Clubs}.

Curi showed his {8-Clubs} and the two players then began exchanging a few words, Colonese saying that he knows he had better than that, and Curi saying, if you show me your other card I'll show you mine. Eventually Colonese did show his {J-Diamonds} and Curi turned up his {A-Clubs} for the nut flush. Colonese nodded and Curi took in the big pot.

Belluscio Just Keeps Climbing

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

A player opened from early position with a raise to 1,800. He found a call from Julio Belluscio from the cutoff. Everyone folded so the two were heads up.

The flop was {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {9-Diamonds} on the turn. The player in early position checked over to Belluscio who put out a bet of 3,000. His opponent called.

On the {9-Diamonds} river the early position player checked once more. Belluscio put out another bet, this time for 4,500. His opponent called after a brief thought. Belluscio showed {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and that was good to earn him yet another pot and add to what seems to be his ever-growing chip stack.

Fernandez Felts a Foe

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Leo Fernandez
Leo Fernandez

With 5,300 chips already in the middle on a flop of {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, PokerStars Team Pro Leo Fernandez was on the button and facing a decision for 2,400 from the player in the big blind. Fernandez raised to 5,400 and the big blind called.

The turn brought the {5-Clubs} and the big blind bet 2,400 again. Fernandez palmed a stack of chips and moved them forward, putting his opponent to a decision for the remainder of his stack. He called and the two players tabled their hands.

Fernandez: {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Big blind: {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Fernandez was way ahead with the flopped nut straight, while his opponent had no hope of winning the pot outright and needed to catch a nine in order to preserve his stack with a chopped pot. The {6-Clubs} on the river changed nothing and Fernandez scooped.

There the big blind checked to Scaffo who bet 1,500. His opponent started chuckling, then showed his {2-Spades}{3-Hearts} to which Scaffo began laughing too.
