Spulber Doubles Through O'Connor

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Iosif Spulber
Iosif Spulber

Alban Beysson opened to 2,100 in early position and Jamie O'Connor three-bet to 6,300 on the button. PokerStars Ambassador David Kaye then four-bet to 15,500 from the small blind and Beysson and O`Connor both folded.

The very next hand, Beysson again opened to 2,100 and O'Connor again three-bet to 6,300. It was deja vu as Iosif Spulber then four-bet jammed a stack of 45,000 from the big blind. Beysson got out of the way and O'Connor tanked for over a minute before calling with a bigger stack.

Iosif Spulber: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Jamie O'Connor: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

"Wow!" reacted Alexandra Botez.

"Slow roll!" Spulber joked about O'Connor's tank.

The flop came {6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{k-Hearts} to give Spulber the lead and he held for a double after the {3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} runout.

Arlie Shaban

Arlie Shaban opened to 2,100 in middle position and Oliver Weis defended from the big blind. The flop came {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Weis check-called a bet from Shaban.

The turn was the {2-Spades} and both players checked to the {10-Clubs} on the river. Weis led out with a bet of 2,600 on the river and Shaban quickly called. Weis knuckled the table and Shaban tabled {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for the winner.

On the next hand, Shaban raised to 2,100 again and Ante Jukic re-raised to 5,500 in the cutoff. Shaban called and they went heads-up to a flop of {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Spades}.

Shaban check-called bets of 2,700 on the flop and then 6,700 on the {8-Clubs} turn. The river was the {q-Diamonds} and both players tapped the table. Shaban showed {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} but Jukic held {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} for the better kicker.
