Joris Ruijs Eliminated in 22nd Place ($123,600)

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Joris Ruijs
Joris Ruijs

Jeremy Ausmus open-jammed from the cutoff and Joris Ruijs called out of the big blind.

Joris Ruijs: {7-Spades}{6-Spades}
Jeremy Ausmus: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Ruijs was in trouble and was drawing even thinner when the flop landed {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} to give Ausmus a set and Ruijs a worthless two pair. The board then bricked out {q-Hearts}{k-Spades} and Ruijs was eliminated in 22nd place.

"Leave it to me to win all the three big blind pots," Ausmus laughed.

Shylko & Magnus Get Three-Outed Before Two-Outing Menzel

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Aliaksandr Shylko
Aliaksandr Shylko

Aliaksandr Shylko was in the hijack and opened to 200,000 for his third consecutive preflop raise and Nadya Magnus three-bet jammed a stack of 1,400,000 from the button. Table chip leader Max Menzel then re-shoved a bigger stack from the small blind and Shylko took off his sunglasses before calling.

Nadya Magnus: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Aliaksandr Shylko: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Max Menzel: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

Magnus and Shylko were in good shape to chop the pot and Shylko closed his eyes as he awaited the runout. The Belarusian looked completely defeated when the flop landed {5-Spades}{9-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} to give Menzel a commanding lead, but his demeanor quickly changed when the {k-Diamonds} peeled off on the turn to miraculously improve his and Magnus' hands.

The {3-Diamonds} river completed the board and Magnus and Shylko both stayed alive.

"I think there's a little brown speck on the back of your pants," Dylan Destefano joked to Shylko.

Philipe Pizzari raised to 160,000 on the button and Blake Bohn three-bet shoved all in for 1,635,000 from the big blind. Pizzari deliberated for a brief moment before making the call.

Blake Bohn: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Philipe Pizzari: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

The flop came {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Bohn picked up a straight draw to go with his two over cards. The {k-Hearts} on the turn paired the board but the {9-Spades} on the river bricked everything, sending Bohn to the rail.

James Mendoza
James Mendoza

Jeremy Ausmus opened to 160,000 in middle position and Joris Ruijs called on the button, while James Mendoza defended from the big blind.

Mendoza checked on the flop of {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Ausmus continued for 160,000. Ruijs folded and Mendoza called. Mendoza checked on the {8-Spades} turn and Ausmus sized up to 300,000. Mendoza check-jammed a stack of 1,130,000 and Ausmus gave it some thought and called to put Mendoza at risk.

James Mendoza: {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Jeremy Ausmus: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Mendoza had improved to two pair on the turn to take the lead and held for a double as the {k-Clubs} bricked off on the river.

Matthew Hunt

Max Menzel raised to 160,000 from under the gun and called when Matthew Hunt moved all-in to his left for 950,000. The rest of the table folded, leaving Hunt at risk.

Matthew Hunt: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Max Menzel: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Niclas Thumm
Niclas Thumm

Daniel Dvoress opened from early position and Niclas Thumm three-bet jammed a stack of 845,000 from the hijack. Jeremy Ausmus then re-shoved from the big blind and Dvoress quickly folded.

Niclas Thumm: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Jeremy Ausmus: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Thumm was in great shape to double and not much changed on the {3-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop, though Ausmus remained optimistic.

"Straight flush," said Ausmus. "It's in the realm of possibility."

Unfortunately for Ausmus, the board ran out {4-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Thumm earned the double with the nut flush ahead of the three-table redraw.

Violleau Exits on Bad Terms

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Mehdi Violleau - Nacho Barbero
Mehdi Violleau - Nacho Barbero

Mehdi Violleau was down to just 12 big blinds and shoved all in for around 700,000 in the cutoff. Nacho Barbero re-shoved for slightly more on the button and both of the blinds folded.

Mehdi Violleau: {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Nacho Barbero: {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

"One time," Violleau prayed as the cards were tabled.

"You already used two times on me," was Barbero's response.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} which narrowed Violleau's outs to just three. The {j-Diamonds} on the turn and the {2-Diamonds} on the river changed nothing and Violleau was eliminated.

The two players exchanged some words in French after the hand and Barbero relayed to the table that Violleau was dumbfounded about Barbero's re-shove with king-queen.
