Earlier this year, PokerStars US announced the return of live tournaments, hosting three weekends of poker action in the inaugural Summer Series at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia.

Event #1: $550 No-Limit Hold’em has been a huge success already. There have been four flights over the past two days with a total of 631 players taking their shot at the large guarantee and a total of 79 players moving on to Day 2. That $200,000 guarantee was smashed halfway through the third flight yesterday. There is already $296,570 in the prize pool with today’s flight still waiting to kick off. All indications are that this will be the largest flight of them all. There is a real possibility that the guarantee will be doubled by day’s end.

Multiple players have already bagged some big stacks to take with them to Day 2. Among them are Day 1c chip leader John Cipriano (578,000), 1b chip leader Alesandro Jimenes (576,500), and Day 1a chip leader Vitaly Kovyazin (509,000). However, as the battle raged on late last night in Flight 1d there were some serious fireworks and the overwhelming chip leader is currently Sridhar Sangannagari, who bagged an incredible 971,000 chips.

All players that found a bag will return on Sunday at 11:15 a.m. to battle it out for their share of the prize pool and the coveted PokerStars Spadie Trophy. Today’s flight will be everyone’s last shot at making Day 2 so don’t miss out!
