Eisenberg Raises Weng

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Lara Eisenberg opened from early position and action folded to Bin Weng in late position who three-bet to 4,800. Eisenberg made the call to send the two players to the flop.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{10-Spades} and Eisenberg checked to Weng. He opted to continue for 3,000 but promptly folded after Eisenberg responded by raising to 8,000. After enjoying a productive start to the day, Weng has struggled during the last level, leaving his stack down below starting. Eisenberg, meanwhile, has held fairly steady and with this pot moves up past starting stack.

Dickstein Cracks Aces

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Mark Dickstein opened to 1,300 from middle position and action folded around to the small blind who three-bet to 3,500. The big blind then cold four-bet to 12,500 and Dickstein responded by moving all in. The small blind quickly folded while the big blind snapped with the covering stack to put Dickstein at risk.

Mark Dickstein: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Big Blind Player: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

Dickstein was in rough shape, though it should be noted that earlier in the hand the {a-Clubs} dealt to John Auville was exposed. That fact became of particular importance after the flop came {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{4-Spades} to vault Dickstein into a commanding lead. The {j-Hearts} turn left the big blind player hoping to hit either a ten or the single remaining ace to eliminate Dickstein but the comeback was not to be as the {j-Diamonds} completed the board to improve Dickstein to a full house.

Fikac Makes a Set

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

A player opened to 1,700 from middle position and was called by Bin Weng in late position, Robert Fikac in the small blind and the big blind player.

Both blinds checked to the initial raiser following the {8-Hearts}{10-Spades}{a-Clubs} flop and he continued for 2,000. Weng responded by raising to 6,000 and was called by Fikac. The big blind and middle position players quickly got out of the way to send action heads-up to the turn.

Fikac and Weng checked through the {5-Hearts} turn to the {7-Hearts} river at which point Fikac led out for 6,000. Weng instantly called but mucked after Fikac turned over {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for the flopped set.

McKeehen Off to Excellent Start

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Joe McKeehen
Joe McKeehen

Joe McKeehen had just taken his seat and on his very first hand raised to 1,500 after a player limped from under the gun. The limper called to send action heads-up to the flop.

The under the gun player checked to McKeehen on a flop of {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and he continued for 1,200, enough to get a fold from his opponent to rake in a small pot.

On the next hand McKeehen opened to 1,000 from middle position and received a single caller out of the small blind.

Action checked to McKeehen following the {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop and he continued for 1,200. The small blind called to see a turn.

The {q-Hearts} turn saw the small blind check for a second time before once again calling after McKeehen fired off 4,000.

The small blind then checked for a third and final time after the {7-Diamonds} completed the board. McKeehen, not prepared to go to showdown just yet, pushed a hefty 17,500 into the middle. His opponent did not think for long before calling and tabled {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for the king high flush. It was not good, however, as McKeehen turned over {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} to pip the small blind player to the large pot.

Fikac Raises Dike

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Jim Dike opened to 1,100 from early position and was called by Robert Fikac in the cutoff as well as Lara Eisenberg in the big blind.

Eisenberg checked to Dike following the {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop and he continued for 1,500 only to see Fikac raise to 4,500. That got a quick fold from Eisenberg and, after some thought, Dike followed suit, tossing his hand into the muck to send the pot towards Fikac.

Elsewhere at the same table, Bin Weng has gotten off to a good start to bring his chip count up near the 75,000 mark.

Elias Picks Up Small One

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

A player opened to 800 from middle position and was called by a player in late position, the button and Darren Elias in the big blind to generate four-way action heading to the flop.

All four players checked through the {9-Hearts}{a-Spades}{k-Spades} flop to the {8-Clubs} turn at which point Elias led out for 3,000. That was enough to convince all of his opponents to get out of the way to send a small pot Elias' direction early in the day.
