Roof Loses Small One

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Marshall Roof, who recently finished as runner-up in Event #1: $400 Mystery Bounty, limped from late position and was called by Mohammed-Ali Tadjer on the button as well as the small blind with the big blind checking their option.

The blinds checked to Roof on a flop of {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{k-Spades} and he continued for 1,100. That forced folds from Tadjer and the small blind but the big blind decided to call.

Both players checked through the {10-Hearts} turn to the {5-Diamonds} river at which point the big blind checked for a third time. Roof, not prepared to go to showdown, fired off 2,200 and was promptly called. 'You're good' Roof said as he turned over {j-Hearts}{8-Spades} and that was indeed the case for the big blind player, who held {a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}.

Fleischman Makes the Nuts

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Barry Fleischman opened to 600 from under the gun and was three-bet to 1,200 by a player in middle position. Action folded back around to Fleischman who made the call to see a flop heads-up.

Both players checked through the {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop to the {k-Diamonds} turn at which point Fleischman checked for a second time. His opponent fired a delayed continuation of 2,600 which Fleischman called.

The {8-Hearts} river saw Fleischman take over the betting lead, pushing 7,000 into the middle. The middle position player quickly called and tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}. It was no good, however, as Fleischman flipped over {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for the ace-high flush to scoop a sizable pot early in the day.
