A massive pot was brewing between Brent Slaubaugh and an opponent on a flop of 10QK as the early-position player got in his last 110,000. Slaubaugh put him at risk from the cutoff.

All-In Player: KQ All in
Brent Slaubaugh: AJ

The at-risk player showed top two pair, but Slaubaugh had flopped the nut straight. The board ran out 29 and Slaubaugh raked in the pile of chips, increasing his stack up close to 300,000.

"I never would've thought you flopped the nuts," his defeated opponent said on his way to the rail.

Justin Mayse

Justin Mayse in the hijack and Cameron Wierson in the cutoff exchanged raises before the flop until Wierson was all in for his last 80,000.

Cameron Wierson: AK All in
Justin Mayse: AA

Mayse shot out of his seat and loudly clapped his hands together after showing down his two aces. According to the table, he had also been dealt aces the hand before.

"Back-to-back aces, that's crazy," a tablemate said, and the board ran out QK866 to earn him the knockout.

Devries Spikes a Queen to Bust Three

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Carl Devries
Carl Devries

Carl Devries had a raise of 7,000 in front of him from the small blind before James Armstrong moved all in for 10,900 in the big blind. Lee Nguyen reshoved for 53,000 in early position, and another opponent in middle position shoved for 33,000. Devries went deep into the tank, taking a few minutes before calling with the biggest stack of the four.

James Armstrong: J5 All in
Middle-Position Player: AA All in
Lee Nguyen: AK All in
Carl Devries: QQ

The middle-position player was ahead with his aces, but the flop brought Q92 to give Devries top set. The rest of the board ran out 44 and Devries improved to a full house to send all three opponents to the rail.

"I almost didn't call," he said as he raked in the massive pot.

The tournament clock moved up to 230 entries so far today, bringing the total number to 608 over all three starting flights.

That surpassed last year's total of 602 and officially made this the largest event in South Dakota poker history. Roughrider Poker Tour director Jerry Sorrells made the announcement, and a loud round of applause went up from around the room.

Bierschenk Outflops Swindle

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Monte Failoni raised to 3,000 under the gun before an early-position player three-bet to 8,000. Merle Bierschenk called in the hijack, and Penn Swindle then moved all in for 26,600 in the big blind. Failoni got out of the way, but both the early-position player and Bierschenk called.

Bierschenk then bet 19,500 on the K83 flop, and the early-position player folded.

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Billy Etherington and an opponent went heads-up to a flop of 3107 where the early-position player bet 6,000. Etherington then moved all in for 22,300 from the small blind.

His opponent went deep into the tank, taking several minutes before tossing AK into the muck. "Wow! You folded?" Etherington yelled out as he showed 109.
