Gene Bubar Hits an Ace

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Gene Bubar opened to 2,800 from middle position and the player behind him called.

The player on the button raised all-in for 9,800 and Bubar was the lone caller.

Bubar had {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} against the {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} of his opponent.

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{a-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Bubar won the pot and eliminated his opponent.

His opponent seemed like she expected the {a-Spades} on the turn as she was already out of her seat and getting ready to leave before it peeled off.

Hubert Bowens Is Best on the River

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Hubert Bowens

The player on the button opened to 2,100 and the player in the small blind raised all-in for 2,700. Hubert Bowens was in the big blind and called.

The button called as well.

"I can't win. I keep getting rivered," said the all-in player.

The board ran out {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

As the board ran out and both remaining players checked. The all-player said, "I can't win."

When the hands were tabled, he turned over {3-}{3-}.

"Oh wow I win!" he said, but he quickly noticed that the {7-Spades} on the river paired Bowens.

Bowens showed {q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and the button showed {q-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Bowens won the pot and the small blind was eliminated — losing again on the river.

Jeremy Tinsley Looking for More RunGood Success

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Jeremy Tinsley is a regular in the fields for the RGPS. He chopped the Bossier City RGPS event last season and just chopped the RunGood Events Southern Poker Open last week.

He had a third-place finish and an 11th-place finish in RGPS Main Events last season. He has just under $600,000 in tournament winnings and is looking to make another deep run here at RGPS Tunica.

He's in good shape to do so too as he's already built up a 50,000 stack.

On his most recent hand, he got in 2,300 preflop heads up. He then bet the turn on a {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{9-Spades} board and took down a 7,000 pot.

Tyler Burke is one of the dealers at the Horseshoe Tunica. He worked his shift early today so he could fire in Day 1a of the Run Good Poker Series Main Event.

He is currently sitting at a little over double starting stack.

Burke has spent the past 2.5 years streaming video games after deciding to stop streaming poker.

He said he had a pretty big downswing and decided to take the rest of his bankroll and buy a really nice computer. He now says he is having way more fun than when he was playing poker.

"It's kind of nice to get home from work and just have a beer and play games with your friends," he said.
