Hugh Gumbiner

Marco Johnson shoved his last 58,000 from the button and Hugh Gumbiner called from the small blind to put him at risk. Johnson turned over {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Gumbiner had {2-}{2-}. The board ran out {j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{q-Spades}{k-Clubs} and Johnson made a straight to double as the stone bubble nears.

On the very next hand, Gumbiner got the last of his chips in after Brian Tipton shoved his last 93,000. Arian Shahadi called to attempt the double knockout.

Hugh Gumbiner: {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Brian Tipton: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Arian Shahadi: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and Tipton's aces held to secure the triple while Gumbiner was eliminated from the Day 1a flight.

Sorokin Turns Trips

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Action was heads up with over 100,000 in the middle and {3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades} on the board when Igor "Iggy Sunrun" Sorokin instantly shoved his big stack. His opponent called quickly from the button with around 200,000 and turned over {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}. Sorokin had {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for a trailing pair of queens.

The turn was {q-Diamonds} and Sorokin jumped ahead. The river was {k-Clubs} and Sorokin's trip queens held to crack his opponents pocket aces.

Elsewhere in the room, Marco Johnson has bounced back and he now sits with 155,000.
