Registration for Day 1c is now closed and the final tally is 391 entrants. The third of four flights brings the grand total to 835 entries and a prize pool of $434,200.

Day 1c will send 49 players to Sunday's Day 2 finale.

Time for a Break

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Players have stepped out for a 15-minute break at the end of Level 8. Late registration remains open until the end of this break. There are currently 388 entries in the flight.

"The Best Comeback You've Ever Covered"

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante
Kyle Kitagawa
Kyle Kitagawa

Kyle Kitagawa was all in blind for less than one big blind with three callers and the board ran out {4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and the other players checked it down before turned over {a-}{3-}, {a-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, and {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}. Kitagawa peeled his cards one at a time to reveal a {9-Spades} and a {10-Spades} for a pair of tens to take the pot and stay alive.

"This will be the best comeback you've ever covered," Kitagawa said as he stacked up the pot.

A very short time later Kitagawa was all in again with three more callers. The board ran out {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{q-Spades} but Kitagawa turned over {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and the pair of sevens wasn't good enough to beat his opponents set of tens.

The comeback was over, but Kitagawa still has a chance to jump back in before registration ends in Day 1c, and a fresh flight will get underway at 6 p.m. for Day 1d.

Badamdorj Takes From Weinstein

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Action was three ways with {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts} on the board when action checked to Ganzorig Badamdorj in the cutoff. Badamdorj bet 1,300 and Joshua Weinstein raised to 3,000 from the small blind. James Doherty called from the big blind and the turn was {10-Hearts}.

Weinstein bet 5,000 on the turn and both players called to see {a-} on the river.

Weinstein continued for 7,000 on the river and Doherty folded before Badadorj tossed in the chips to call. Weinstein turned over {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, but Badamdorj showed {a-Clubs}{5-Spades} to take the pot with aces and fives.

Elsewhere in the room, Joe Stapleton has busted out of Day 1c.
