Thompson Doubles Through Kurtin; Sternberg Takes Her Seat

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action was heads up with {5-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} on the board and Robert Thompson had bet all but one T-500 chip. Matt Kurtin was in the tank but he called to see {7-Spades} on the river. Thompson committed the last chip and Kurtin called while he turned over {q-}{j-}, but Thompson had {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} to take the pot with a better jack.

Elsewhere at the table, Deborah Sternberg has taken her seat, and she was encouraging players to tell the PokerNews team that their name is Joe Stapleton.

However, Stapleton is in the room at another table with 42,500.

Turned Full House Beats Flopped Flush

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Action was heads up with 6,000 in the middle and {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{7-Hearts} when L.U. checked and a player in late position bet 4,000. L.U. raised to 10,500 and the player in late position shoved for a total of 28,300.

L.U. was worried about pocket queens, but he tossed in a chip to call while he turned over {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for the turned full house. His opponent showed {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for the flopped flush.

The river didn't matter and L.U. dragged the pot while his opponent picked up the pieces and made his way to the door.
