Kulbe Showers Howard

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Action folded to Taylor Howard in the cutoff and he opened to 2,000. Lucas Kulbe defended his big blind and the flop came {q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}. Kulbe checked to Howard, who continuation-bet 2,000, and Kulbe called.

The turn came {2-Hearts} and Kulbe checked again. Howard fired a second barrel of 5,000 and Kulbe check-raised to 20,000, more than enough to put Howard all in. Howard wasted no time calling.

Howard: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Kulbe: {q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Howard's overpair was up against a flopped top two pair with a flush draw to go with it, leaving him with seven outs to a nonflush set or counterfeit two pair. Unfortunately for him, the river {6-Clubs} fell in Kulbe's favor and Howard was off to fire what will likely be one last shot at the event, given just over one level remains in late registration for the tournament.

"Nice Hand, Papa"

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Papa Karn
Papa Karn

A player limped in from early position and Papa Karn limped behind in middle position, as did Jeff Grimes in the hijack. The cutoff then shoved for 5,100 and both the original limper and Karn called.

Grimes then thought for a bit and let his hand go, bringing a flop of {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{6-Diamonds} where Grimes patted himself on the back as the early-position player check-folded to a bet of 7,300 from Karn.

All-In Player: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Papa Karn: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}

Just like that, the turn came {5-Clubs} to give Karn a full house.

"Jesus!" exclaimed the all-in player, standing up and going full devastated sports fan with his hands on his head. The river {a-Hearts} did not save him, and Karn shipped the pot and knockout.

"Nice hand, Papa," said Grimes. "I folded pocket nines. I couldn't hang with you guys."

Hindman Gets Stacks In with a Flush

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Joe Hindman was under the gun and checked to his opponent on his direct left on the turn of a board reading {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}. His opponent bet 12,000 and Hindman check-shoved for 26,500, receiving a call without much delay.

Hindman: {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

Hindman's king-high flush was ahead, but he still needed to fade a fourth heart coming on the river and did so as the {k-Clubs} fell to complete the runout and score him the double.

Brian Frenzel
Brian Frenzel

A pair of events kicked off the RunGood Poker Series "Contenders" Tour on Tuesday night, the second of which was the staple Event #2: $135 Pro Bounty.

After late registration closed, 235 entries were tallied with the top 24 places set to be paid. When all was said and done, Brian "TheGoldenBlazer" Frenzel found himself as the last man standing and earned the first-place prize of $5,872.

The event was Frenzel's first event as a RunGood guest ambassador, per the RGPS Twitter, and was also his third RGPS final table, as he finished in 8th place in the Jamul $575 Main Event last September and took 3rd in the $550 RunGood All-Stars Pro-Am Invitational, which was held this past December at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas.

Reichard Calls Correctly; Stetler Takes a Stack

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Hand #1: There was around 16,000 in the middle on a completed board of {8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades}{j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} with heads-up action between the small blind and Brett Reichard, who was on the button. The small blind bet 5,500 and Reichard thought for a while before making the call.

"Seven," announced the small blind, tabling {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Reichard turned over {a-Spades}{8-Hearts} for third pair, and it was good to earn him the pot.

Moments later on the same table, a short stack jammed into two opponents from the big blind on a flop of {q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and was called only by ClubGG Qualifier Melissa "RiverManiac" Stetler in middle position.

All-In Player: {q-Spades}{3-Hearts}
Stetler: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Stelter's kicker remained in play through the runout {k-Spades}{8-Hearts} and she scored the pot and knockout.

A Preflop Raising War

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Mark Fink
Mark Fink

Mark FInk saw action fold to him on the button and opened to 1,100. The button three-bet to 3,300 and Fink went into the tank for a bit before four-betting to 10,000.

After some time, the small blind folded, saying he folded two tens. Fink flashed {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} briefly, which the dealer exposed for the table to see upon shipping Fink the pot.
