Day 1c Ends as Navarro Bursts Bubble

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On the first hand of hand-for-hand play, Valentino Navarro was all in for less than a big blind and 4 people went to the flop.

All three players ended up checking it down and Navarro failed to win with his queen-high and was eliminated on the stone bubble.

The surviving 19 players are now in the money and have started the bagging process and will return tomorrow for Day 2.

A final chip count and recap of this flight will be released shortly.

Foster Busts Lanes

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On a heads up flop of {k-Spades}{9-Hearts}{q-Spades}, Ricj Lanes was in the small blind when he shoved for 48,000 into the 45,000 pot.

His opponent, Grant Foster, then went into the tank to contemplate his decision.

"Do you want action, Rich?" Foster asked.

"I want you to do whatever you want to do, Grant," Lanes replied.

And with that Foster threw in a calling chip and the cards were tabled, with Lanes at risk.

Rich Lanes: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Grant Foster: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

"Yeah you've got me out-kicked all right, but i can still hit a jack!" Foster said.

The turn came the {a-Hearts} which gave Foster a flush draw to go with his straight outs.

"Heart!" Foster pleaded to the poker gods, and just like that, the {4-Hearts} came down from the heavens to give Foster the nut flush to eliminate Lanes and win the pot.

"Wow, wow, wow, you just had to do that, huh Rich?" Lanes said as he shook his said.

Foster himself was stunned at what transpired as he slowly began to pile his chips up.

Becker Takes it Down

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On a heads-up flop of {q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Spades}, Christopher Whitehead bet 25,000 into the 50,000 pot. But then David Becker moved all in for around 170,000, which covered Whitehead.

After a brief stint in the tank, Whitehead threw his cards into the muck and the pot was pushed Becker's way.

Big Fold From Martin

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Elizabeth Martin
Elizabeth Martin

On a heads-up flop of {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{q-Hearts}, Elizabeth Martin was first to act and she bet 20,000 which was called by Genna Slavin.

On the turn {a-Spades}, Martin fired again for 40,000 but was then raised all-in by Slavin.

After thinking for a few seconds, Martin threw her hand face-up into the much to show {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} for top pair and nut flush draw. Slavin then tapped the table in approval and showed {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for a flopped set of queens as he was pushed the pot.

Morey Wins Another Huge Pot

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On a multi-way flop of {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}, the small blind moved all in for around 30,000 and Ken Morey just called. Then the player behind him shoved for around 65,000 and Morey snap-called and the cards were tabled.

Small Blind: {j-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Cutoff: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Ken Morey: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Morey had floped the nut straight, but the cutoff could still hit a full house and the small blind could hit an ace to chop.

The turn {9-Clubs} gave the small blind the smaller straight but that still wasn't enough and the river {10-Spades} secured Moreys victory and he was pushed the massive pot as his two opponents were eliminated.

Foster Scores Back-to-Back Knockouts

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Hand one:

On a heads-up flop of {5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}, Grant Foster was faced with an all-in bet from his opponent for around 25,000.

Without much thought, Foster threw in a call chip and the cards were exposed, with Foster covering.

Opponent: {k-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Foster: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}

Foster was a big favorite as he had his opponent heavily dominated, and the runout of {2-Clubs}{8-Hearts} kept it that way and his opponent was eliminated.

Hand Two:

After a raise and a shove, Grant Foster found himself faced with another all-in, this time from Coltrane Mendelsohn for around 30,000.

Foster again quickly made the call, putting Mendelsohn at risk as the cards were tabled.

Coltrane Mendelsohn: {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Grant Foster: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Foster was ahead going in, but Mendelsohn still had two overs he could hit to win. Unfortunately for Mendelsohn, the board ran out {2-Clubs}{q-Spades}{5-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{4-Spades} which meant Foster's pocket sevens held to eliminate him.

Foster is now one of the bigger stacks in the room with a total chip count od 370,000.
