Platt Pulls the Pot

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Jeff Platt
Jeff Platt

On a heads-up turn of KQ104, Jeff Platt led out for 27,000 and Rommel Damasco made the call to see the J fall on the river.

"Seven thousand," Platt announced as he tossed out the bet into the pot close to 100,000. Damsasco rolled his eyes and shook his head, but tossed in a call nonetheless.

Platt then rolled over 89 for the bottom end of the straight on the river and Damasco checked it twice before he shook his head again and tossed in his hand to award Platt the pot.

A Goodyear for Evans

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

After some back-and-forth preflop, Daniel Evans and Christopher Goodyear got it all in, with Evans covering by a hair.

Christopher Goodyear: AQ
Daniel Evans: QQ

The board ran out 8467K for Evans and his queens to hold while Goodyear was eliminated.

"You guys think I have the stamina to go play flight c?" he asked, to which the table replied with a resounding, "Yes"!

Better to Be Lucky Than Good

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

After a preflop betting war, Baljinder Bhupal and Adam Curchack got all of the chips into the middle, with Bhupal at risk.

Baljinder Bhupal: KK
Adam Curchack: QQ

Although Bhupal had the best of it going into this battle, the flop of Q32 was not his friend as it immediately gave Curchack the advantage with top set of queens.

Bhupal failed to improve on the 5J runout and he was eliminated while Curchack scooped the big pot.

"Gotta get lucky in this game," someone commented, to which Curchack nodded enthusiastically.
