Thurman Outkicks Thompson

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

After a couple of players limped in, Dennis Thurman decided to test his luck and moved all in for his remaining 11,000. The rest of the players got out of the way except for Chris Thompson who made the call to put Thurman at risk.

Dennis Thurman: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Chris Thompson: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Thurman was favorite going into this bout with this jack-kicker, and the board runout of {6-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs} kept it that way and he scored the double-up.

You Know What They Say...

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

On a heads-up turn board of {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}, after a bet from Jesse Lott for 7,000, Paul Figliomeni check-raised to 17,000.

After pondering for a few moments, Lott made the call and the two saw the {k-Hearts} fall on the river.

Figliomemeni checked once again and Lott bet 15,000, which Figliomeni called and tabled {a-Hearts}{2-Spades} for a rivered straight while Lott tabled {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for the same straight and the two chopped the pot.

Thompson Takes it at Showdown

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

In a multi-way flop of {3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, Chris Thompson bet 3,000 from the small blind and was called by Chuck Ealy in the big blind. The other players got out of the way and the two went heads-up to the turn {j-Diamonds}.

The two players then proceeded to check down through the river {10-Hearts} and Thompson flipped over {6-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a pair of nines which was evidently good enough to take the pot as Ealy tossed his cards into the muck.

Rodgers' Check-Raise Takes Pot

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Michael Rodgers opened to 2,500 from middle position but was then three-bet to 7,500 by Josh Miller on the button.

Rodgers made the call and the two went heads-up to a flop of {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.

Rodgers checked to Miller, who continued for 5,000, but then Rodgers check-raised all in for around 28,000, covering Miller.

Miller went into the tank for several moments, and after checking his cards one last time, he decided to make the fold and the pot was awarded to Rodgers.

Schultz Comes from Behind to KO Friedman

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Jay Friedman moved all in from early positon and was called by Barry Schultz.

"I'm way behind," Schultz said even before the cards were tabled.

Jay Friedman: {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Barry Schultz: {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Schultz was correct, he was indeed behind going into this flip, but the flop of {8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds} put him in the lead as he made a pair of sixes.

The turn {q-Hearts} gave Friedman some more outs as he could now hit a jack for a straight, but the river {9-Clubs} did not do it and he was sent to the rail as Schultz was pushed the pot.
