Brian Winter has taken his seat in the RGPS Main Event and he will attempt to extend his lead in the RGPS Player of the Year points race with a strong finish this weekend.

Winter picked up 90 more points last week in San Diego, and he continues to lead Shaun Emery heading to this week’s action.

How it works:

  • Leaderboard Points: Players will score points based on their performance in RunGood Poker Series events by the Global Poker Index ranking system.
  • Five Winners: The tally started on August 29th, 2023, and end June 1st, 2024. The top five players on the leaderboard will win a seat in the 2024 Hendon Mob Mid-Major Championship and a $500 travel stipend.
  • Immortality: The top player will be featured forever on tour with a RunGood Player of the Year banner.

Heard Raises the River

Level 2: 200/300/300

Just before blinds went up, action was three ways with AJQ on the board when a player in the small blind checked before Matt Chaney tossed out 800 from the big blind. A player in the cutoff called and Robert Heard came along from the button before the small blind stayed in.

The turn was 5 and the small blind checked again. Chaney fired 2800 and the cutoff folded before Heard and the small blind came along for the river.

The river was J and the small blind fired 5,000. Chaney folded and Heard raised to 15,000 — enough to take the pot with a fold from the small blind.

Heard flashed his cards and the table was shown his K10 for a Broadway straight.
