Day 1b Completed
After over 15 levels of play, the field of 147 was brought down to just 18 contenders in Day 1b of the $800 RunGood Poker Series Main Event at Hollywood Casino in St. Louis, Missouri. These players will join those from yesterday’s flight as well as the two groups of players from tomorrow’s flights on Sunday, September 29th to play down to a winner.
Leading the way is Missouri native William Byrnes who ended the day with an impressive 634,000, making him the overall chip leader. Brynes was involved heavily throughout the day, starting his run by doubling through WSOP Main Event Champion Greg Raymer and really soared to the top when he picked up aces in back-to-back hands and doubled both times. With over $865,000 in lifetime earnings, he now secures his first RGPS cash and looks to add another deep run to his highly decorated resume.

With a double elimination, Day 1b has come to a close without a need for hand-for-hand and the players have begun the bagging process.
End-of-day chip counts will be released shortly along with a recap of the day's events so stay tuned!
After some back-and-forth betting, Matthew Nilges and Kenneth Allen got it all into the middle preflop, with Nilges at risk of elimination.
Matthew Nilges: A♦A♥
Kenneth Allen: J♠J♣
"Ugh, yeah, I'm not good enough to fold that," Allen said when he realized what he was up against.
The runout of 2♠4♣Q♠7♠9♦ changed nothing and Nilges was shipped the pot for the double.
Left short, Allen was eliminated soon after.

On a heads-up flop of 4♣9♦Q♠, Cody Stanford checked Dylan Crawford bet, and then Stanford check-raised to 55,000.
Crawford made the call and the two went to the turn A♣, which saw a big bet from Stanford worth 85,000 and a call from Crawford.
On the river 7♣, Stanford thought for a bit before he moved all in for 85,000 and Crawford went into the tank.
After close to two minutes, Crawford set out a stack to make the call and received the gratifying table tap from Stanford as he showed K♥3♥ for just king-high. Crawford then tabled Q♦10♣ for a pair of queens to take down the massive pot while Stanford exited.

The table then proceeded to go nuts as Burns rolled over pocket aces, for the SECOND TIME IN A ROW.
Bill Burns: A♥A♦
Kenneth Allen: A♠10♥
"Agh, he got me," Allen groaned as the runout came 6♦3♥5♥10♦9♣ to score him yet another double.
