With the field cut down to 17, play has stopped for the evening as the players bag up to return tomorrow at high noon for the Day 2 restart.
Chip counts for both of today's flights along with a recap of the day's events will be released shortly so stay tuned!
Before the flop, a player open-shoved and then John 'Farmboy' Kurfman re-jammed over the top to isolate.
Opponent: A♥Q♥
John Kurfman: A♦K♣
The flop of 4♥J♥5♦ made it a sweat as the at-risk player picked up a flush draw, but the runout of 8♠9♦ failed to get him there and he was eliminated on the stone bubble while Kurfman was awarded the pot.
On a heads-up completed board of J♥6♣A♣10♠4♥, Sean Maurer led out for 71,000 but then Daniel Lowery popped it to 180,000.
After some considerable thought, Maurer set out a stack of chips to make the call.
Lowery then flipped over Q♠10♣ for a pair of tens, but Maurer had him beat with A♥10♦ for two pair to score the massive pot. This catapulted him to over 500,000 while Lowery was left short.
The field has now been trimmed to 18 and with 17 bagging, they are now on the money bubble. Hand-for-hand is now in effect and play will stop with one more elimination.
After some preflop back-and-forth, John 'Farmboy' Kurfman got it all in against a player to put them at risk.
Opponent: A♠5♥
John Kurfman: Q♣10♠
The at-risk player was in the lead with his ace-high, but the runout of 7♥Q♠10♦4♠K♥ was not his friend as it gave Kurfman two pair to claim the pot, eliminating his foe .
