The action was picked up on a completed board of K♣10♥4♣10♠8♥ when Preston McEwen bet 69,000 into the pot of 75,000 and the action was on his opponent, Chad Baker.
After some time in the tank, McEwen called the clock and he was given a 30-second countdown.
As his timer reached zero, Baker slid his cards to the dealer to award McEwen the pot.
"Alright, I guess I'll show it for the reporter!" McEwen laughed and tabled J♣9♣ as he raked in the chips.
The 64 players remaining in Day 1c are now on their 3rd 15-minute break of the day and will return to action shortly. The purple 500 chips will also be raced off and colored up at this time.
In the 858th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, which is sponsored by WPT Global, Chad Holloway and Mike Holtz are joined by World Poker Tour (WPT) President Adam Pliska at Level 9 Studio in Las Vegas to talk about the WPT World Championship, which isn't featuring a guarantee this year but instead is offering players the opportunity at a $5,000,000 Freeroll, the largest freeroll in poker history! Pliska shares how players can enter for a chance at one of 2,000 seats, plus elaborates on whether or not we might see another WPT Voyage.
Speaking of the WPT, they just wrapped up a stop in Australia that poker pro James Obst won, and you can't talk about the "Land Down Under" without mentioning the WPT's Lynn Gilmartin. Plus, hear about highlights from the WPT Foundation Russell Westbrook's 4th Annual Poker Night, remembering Mike Sexton on what would have been his 77th birthday, and a preview of upcoming WPT stops (Chad will be at the Playground Poker Club in Montreal at the end of October).
Finally, Chad and Mike, a two-time online player of the year, talk about the bombshell article on Bloomberg exposing a Russian poker bot farm and the ramifications it could have on the industry. Learn about those stories and more in the latest episode of the PokerNews Podcast.

Andrew Sayles moved all in preflop and then Cody Stanford shoved behind him for more and another player came along for less.
Andrew Sayles: K♠J♠
Kimberly Parish: Q♣9♥
Cody Stanford: A♣J♠
Stanford was in the lead with his ace-high, but the flop of Q♠8♦9♦ quickly changed that as Parish made two pair.
Unfortunately for her, the turn 10♣ gave both Sayles and Stanford a straight, with Sayles holding the superior king-high straight. The river was the 8♠ and Sayles was pushed the main pot while Stanford took the small side pot and Parish was sent to the exit.
The fourth and final flight of the RGPS St. Louis $800 Main Event is now underway and registration will be open until approximately 9:30 pm so don't miss out on the action!
Chad Baker opened to 8,500 and then the player to his left three-bet to 26,000, which Baker responded to by moving all in for 91,000.
His opponent quickly called to put him at risk and the cards were on their backs.
Chad Baker: A♥6♣
Opponent: A♣Q♦
Baker tapped the table and told his opponent "Nice hand," but the flop of 7♦6♦10♥ gave him the lead with his pair of sixes and now his opponent was on the ropes.
The runout of 4♠3♣ did not change anything and Baker was awarded the pot for the double.
The opposing player was left with less than a big blind and exited soon after.
Earlier this month, Jason Grimes navigated his way through a field of 671 entries to take down the 2024 RGPS RunGood Resort Tunica Main Event for $52,102. Grimes outlasted a final table full of poker veterans to triple his lifetime career poker earnings.
“I am flabbergasted; I have always wanted to win something, and to win a RunGood ring is something special. The main event? It’s just insane,” Grimes said, beaming with joy while trying on the ring. As far as the Dream Seat Invitational goes, Grimes said that will have to wait until a different time but he hopes to capitalize on using the free seat. “I love free stuff, so we will see.”
