Life Outside Poker is a podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.
In the 26th episode, Connor speaks with chess streamer and GGPoker ambassador Alexandra Botez about learning chess and poker from her dad, getting into streaming at Stanford, dealing with online trolls, creating content with her sister Andrea Botez and the similarities between chess and poker.
Botez also talked about winning $456,900 in a legendary 2022 Hustler Casino Livestream that included Phil Hellmuth, Mr. Beast and Ninja, as well as signing on as a GGPoker ambassador and securing two career-high cashes at World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise (she finished 60th in the $10,000 GGMillion$ Championship for $22,190 before finishing 187th in the $25,000 Super Main Event for $67,300).
Action was picked up with Jason Coleman all in an Bobby Sanoubane putting him at risk.
Jason Coleman: 7♠7♣
Bobby Sanoubane: 8♠8♥
Coleman, who was down to 4,000 chips, found multiple double ups, including making a Royal Flush. But he found himself crushed by the bigger pocket pair of Sanoubane, and when the board ran out J♠10♠5♠9♥2♣ Coleman was unable to improve and was eliminated.
Action folded to Naga Valiveti in middle position, and he raised all in for his stack of 67,000, and Timothy Black in the hijack called to put him at risk.
Naga Valiveti: 3♠3♣
Timothy Black: 7♠7♣
Black had the bigger pocket pair, and once the board ran out J♣6♦9♣K♦J♦ the pocket sevens were still best, giving Black the pot, and eliminating Valiveti.
Action folded to Justin Brevik in middle position, and he raised to 12,000, before Cameron Dugan in the hijack three-bet to 38,000. It folded back Brevik who made the call.
After the flop came 4♥A♣Q♦ Brevik check-called a bet of 18,000 from Dugan.
The turn brought the 3♠ and Brevik opted to lead, going all in for his stack of 88,000. This sent Dugan deep into the tank, saying "What did you flop top two on me?". After nearly two minutes in the tank, Dugan mucked his hand to give the pot to Brevik, indicating he let go of ace-king.
Bobby Sanoubane opened the action with a raise to 12,000 and was called by the small blind Timothy Black and the big blind Victor Harris.
After the flop came 7♠8♣6♥ it was checked to Sanoubane, who bet out 25,000. Black made the call, before Harris raised to 75,000. Sanoubane quickly folded, and Black sat in the tank for nearly a minute, before mucking his hand to give the pot to Harris.
