Dustin Cavanaugh

The RunGood Poker Series has made its second trip out west this year. It has made its home at the Atlantis Casino in Reno Nevada, awarding out 10 rings over the course of the week. Today begins the biggest tournament of the series as the first $600 Main Event begins today at 11:00 am.

Last year in October, it was Dustin Cavanaugh who secured his first ever live tournament cash on Hendon Mob with his first RGPS ring, with $33,450 as a nice cash prize to boot. He beat out a final table that included many RGPS regulars including Michael P Harris, Matthew Betti, and WPT World Championship winner Scott Stewart.

He has made his appearance this week in the Ambassadors tournament and will be looking to defend his title and add a second ring to his collection. Other players that have made appearances this week include current player of the year front runner Michael Johns, who finished in second place in the deepstack, Maggie Fox, Mallory RX, and poker power couple Bob Mather and Lexy Gavin-Mather. They will be among the faces in the field looking to become the newest RGPS Main Event champion.

Players will sit down with 30,000 in starting chips with blinds beginning at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. At the conclusion of every four levels there will be a 15-minute break until registration closes after Level 8. After that, players will go on breaks every three levels, and play until just 12.5% of the field rounded down remains. At 6:00 PM, the second flight of the day begins and players will have unlimited re-entry in both flights.
