Former Champ Still in the Field Heading into Final Day of $600 The Hendon Mob Mid-Major Championship
Players are now headed down the final stretch of the $600 The Hendon Mob Mid-Major Championship as the final 111 players return to battle it out for the Hendon Mob trophy, the first-place prize of $95,295, and the ring at the Run Good Poker Series Final Orbit held at Thunder Valley Casino and Resort.
2023 Hendon Mob Mid-Major Champ Jagdeep Bal remains in the hunt after a strong Day 1ab saw him amass 619,000 in chips. Bal won this very event for $71,036 and entered the day with a recorded lifetime career live earnings of over $200,000. Bal outlasted a field of 1,605 players before earning his first-place finish after an eight-way ICM chop at the final table. Bal will be one of the players to watch to see if he can repeat as champion.

Arthur Tanimoto will enter with the most chips of any player as they head into Day 2. Tanimoto finished his starting flight on Day 1c with a stack of 846,000 to become the chip leader of the tournament. His still searching for his first RGPS ring after he came close to earning a top finish earlier this year in March when he finished in third place in the RGPS Reno Main Event, but is in a good position to improve on that as he will be at the top of the heap as they duke it out on the final day of play.
Ryan Pham (824,000) and Daniel Ferketa (728,000) round out the top three in chip counts. Pham and Ferketa are both chasing their first RGPS titles.
RGPS 2023-2024 Player of the Year Brian Winter is still in the hunt as he managed to bag on the final flight on Day 1e. The nine-time title winner bagged a total of 362,000. Winter no doubt aims to add the 10th RGPS title to his resume.
Other RGPS alumni include Cheryl Svenson (212,000) who will aim to capture the third ring of her career. Other returning champions include: Randy Gil (465,000), Ryan Awwad (436,000), Steven Gnatovich (286,000), and Alan Burgess (120,00).

Poker commentator Jeff Platt will look to let his chips do the talking as he secured a bag for Day 2 during Day 1c. Platt chipped up early during his flight before he hovered for a long while. Platt then managed to double near the end of the flight to finish the day with 282,000 as he looks to snag an RGPS title and the trophy.
