Jagdeep Bal
Jagdeep Bal

Players are now headed down the final stretch of the $600 The Hendon Mob Mid-Major Championship as the final 111 players return to battle it out for the Hendon Mob trophy, the first-place prize of $95,295, and the ring at the Run Good Poker Series Final Orbit held at Thunder Valley Casino and Resort.

2023 Hendon Mob Mid-Major Champ Jagdeep Bal remains in the hunt after a strong Day 1ab saw him amass 619,000 in chips. Bal won this very event for $71,036 and entered the day with a recorded lifetime career live earnings of over $200,000. Bal outlasted a field of 1,605 players before earning his first-place finish after an eight-way ICM chop at the final table. Bal will be one of the players to watch to see if he can repeat as champion.

Arthur Tanimoto will enter with the most chips of any player as they head into Day 2. Tanimoto finished his starting flight on Day 1c with a stack of 846,000 to become the chip leader of the tournament. His still searching for his first RGPS ring after he came close to earning a top finish earlier this year in March when he finished in third place in the RGPS Reno Main Event, but is in a good position to improve on that as he will be at the top of the heap as they duke it out on the final day of play.

Ryan Pham (824,000) and Daniel Ferketa (728,000) round out the top three in chip counts. Pham and Ferketa are both chasing their first RGPS titles.

Brian Winter
