Lipps took the betting lead with a wager of 4,000 on the J♦8♣2♣ flop. Cannatella stayed in with a call.

The 4♦ turn did not slow Lipps down, as he fired a second barrel for 8,000. Cannatella was done calling, as she chose to go all-in in response.

This led to a quick fold from Lipps as Cannatella scooped the chips on the turn.

This hand had swelled to approximately 21,500 before three players took a flop of 3♠3♥3♣. "Boston" Rob Mariano checked his big blind, which was followed by a check from Hamid Izadi from early position. Todd Sousa was not in a checking mood, as he bet 7,000 on the flop. The flop bet was enough to shed Mariano, but Izadi was not done with the hand and made the call.

The Q♠ turn led to another check from Izadi. Sousa followed with a bet of 12,000. Izadi called.

The K♣ river was knuckled by Izadi. Sousa emptied the clip with an all-in for roughly 25,400. Izadi opted not to make the call as Sousa took the pot on the river without a showdown.

Hartigan was the beneficiary of aces versus kings as they went to a runout, but with five cards to go, anything was still possible.

The flop was all Hartigan as it came 5♥A♠4♥, giving Hartigan a set of aces and pushing Ryals nearly completely out the door.

The K♥ turn kept Ryals slim chances of an upset alive, but it was not meant to be on the 9♠ river as Hartigan doubled.

The 7♥ turn led to another check from Mariano before Izadi fired a second barrel for 6,000. Mariano put out the chips for a call.

Both players checked the 5♦ river to go to a showdown.

Mariano showed he had an ace when he revealed A♠4♣ for a pair of aces, which was good as Izadi tossed his hand in the muck, awarding the pot to Mariano.

Sousa made the correct call and was in the lead with his pair of nines, but Izadi was far from dead with a flush draw heading into the river.

Scott Bennett shoved for his final 15,100 on the river from the hijack and was quickly called by Louis Lipps in the cutoff to be at risk.

With a straight on the board, both players already had a straight, but Bennett revealed he had the best straight possible when he showed Q♣J♣ for a queen-high straight. It was fortunate for him too, because Lipps showed a single J♦ to reveal he had a better straight than the board also.
