Craig Welko bet 45,000 from the big blind on a board of 3♠4♣Q♣K♣ and Ken Ware moved all in for 150,000 in early position. Welko called and turned over K♠Q♥ for two pair, while Ware had A♣Q♠ for a pair of queens and flush draw.
The 9♥ river was no help to Ware, and he was sent to the rail. Mike Chesney was also eliminated.
Patty Till raised to 18,000 in the hijack, Jasper May three-bet to 40,000 on the button, and Till called. Till then moved all in for 112,000 on the 4♠8♣9♥ flop, and May called.
Patty Till: 10♠8♠
Jasper May: A♦4♦
Till was ahead with her pair of eights, and the board ran out 9♣3♠ to improve her to two pair and give her an early double up.
With 393 total entries, the event featured a prize pool of $280,604. The 46 remaining players are already in the money and guaranteed a min-cash of $1,320, while the champion earns $57,054 and the RunGood championship ring.
Five RunGood ambassadors are still in the hunt for the championship ring as 46 players return for Day 2 of the RunGood Poker Series Golden Expedition Southern Indiana $800 Main Event at 1 p.m. local time.
Carl Masters is the top ambassador and enters the day in fourth place with 565,000. “Uncle Johnny” made the final table of this event last year, and also won a RGPS championship in Tunica last November.
