The PokerNews PowerStack Leaderboard is a season-long competition running across the RunGood Poker Series Passport season, with points awarded at designated PokerNews PowerStack events at every stop.
The top ten finishers on the leaderboard at season’s end will earn a $1,100 RGPS Passport Thunder Valley Main Event seat, plus two nights’ accommodation.
Action went three-ways to a flop of 3♠6♠3♣ in a hand between Mariya Persanova in the cutoff, the player in the small blind, and Chris Bourassa in the big blind.
It checked to Persanova, who bet 6,200, and only Bourassa stuck around to see the A♦ turn. He check-called a bet of 10,000 from Persanova and the 10♠ fell on the river, which completed any flush draws.
Both players checked and Persanova tabled K♠3♥ for trips, besting the A♠J♣ of Bourassa.
After seven Day 1 starting flights and a lengthy Day 2 battle on the felt, the Dallas stop of the RunGood Poker Series Passport Season officially came to a close with Daniel Lowery claiming victory to capture his twelfth RGPS title, and the top-prize of just over $100,000.
The $1,200 Main Event drew 468 entries, with only 56 players returning for the final day of action looking to capture a six-figure score.
Lowery bagged big on Day 1c and entered Sunday as the overall chip leader with over 100 big blinds. He carried his momentum all the way to the end, defeating Thao Tran after a back-and-forth heads-up match to earn the lion's share of the $500,000 prize pool.
