Big Stacks and Bustouts

Level 7 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The tournament is approaching a seven-figure prize pool as the guarantee has long been met. By now, the field has increased to 913 entries of which 681 players remain.

Assorted big stacks and notable casualties can be found below.

Bardon Folds to Jam

Level 7 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

UK-based Spanish poker pro Manuel "manuverd0n" Bardon O'Shea already has a final table during the current SCOOP festival to his name and currently faces big stacks "Muka82" and early frontrunner "papan9_p$" on his table.

Bardon on the button three-bet a raise by "13santoy13" to 8,800 and was called to see a {j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop, which was checked through. After the {a-Spades} turn, "13santoy13" check-called a bet of 19,440 and checked the {6-Spades} on the river.

Bardon now bet 23,200 and his opponent activated the time bank before shoving all-in, forcing a fold from the Spaniard.

Carrel Doubles; "Clabbenyman" Busts Two

Level 6 : 700/1,400, 175 ante

Charlie "Epiphany77" Carrel was cut down to fewer than half the starting stack early on and defended against an open-raise to 4,200 by "elposo1980" when in the big blind. Carrel check-called a bet on the {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop and check-called the shove of his opponent on the {q-Diamonds} turn to reveal a set of deuces against top pair.

"Clabbenyman" has not only recovered from the earlier setback but knocked out two opponents in quick succession. First he held with {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} against the {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} of "mikki696" on a {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} runout. Three hands later, his {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} flopped top pair and top kicker against "Enot.cool" who only had {j-Hearts}{2-Hearts} as the board came {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{a-Diamonds},

Second Break Underway

Level 6 : 700/1,400, 175 ante

The second break of the day has just started or will start shortly as soon as all hands on every table are finished, which gives the players five minutes to grab a refreshment or snack.

First to more than half a million in chips is Leandro "leitalopez" Bustillo from Argentina, who has already increased the bounty on the own head to $1,125. "Radogoszcz" and "VladTheSlaye" remain big stacks while a new face in the overall top 20 is Jack "Swaggersorus” Sinclair.

Dimitar "KuuL" Danchev won a big pot against "needdollarz" from Russia when his {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} beat the {a-Spades}{5-Spades} of the Russian on a board of {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and he then knocked out "needdollarz" soon after with {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} versus {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} after hitting a set on the flop.

Big Pot for Veldhuis; Double Knockout for Botteon

Level 5 : 600/1,200, 150 ante

Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis raised to 3,210 and was called by Andrey "Kroko-dill" Zaichenko in the big blind. Zaichenko check-called three streets of value on a board of {j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} for 4,505, 10,800 and 39,600 respectively to get shown the {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for a full house by Veldhuis.

Brunno "botteonpoker" Botteon also chipped up and claimed two bounties in one hand after knocking out "ale6ka" and "14alonso14". Botteon three-bet and then called the shoves of the teo shorter stacks, the showdown and outcome can be found below.

The Flips Keep Coming

Level 5 : 600/1,200, 150 ante

Especially during the re-entry period the chips find their way into the middle of the table very frequently and "Clabbenyman" was involved once more. He had one of those classic flips for an extra payday when he took on "ArtHouse2011" with {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} versus {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}.

The board came {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and that cut down the stack of "Clabbenyman" to 30 big blinds.
