Veldhuis Can Not Beat a Straight
Level 31
: Blinds 35,000/70,000, 8,750 ante
Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis opened the action from the hijack with a raise to 143,500. Joel "jvieiradias8" Dias was in the big blind and opted to defend.
The flop was fanned out royally as K♠J♠10♠ was shown on everyone's screens. Dias checked to Veldhuis, who bet 140,000 and received a call from his opponent. The turn 3♣ was consequently checked by both players.
On the 2♦ river, Dias took the betting lead and chose a size of 497,438. Veldhuis thought about it for a bit, but eventually made the call, only to get shown the Q♦9♠ of Dias. Nothing higher than a straight for Veldhuis, who mucked his cards and moved on to the next hand.
