"geovri" Scores A Double K.O.

Level 30 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 7,500 ante

Daniel "fauzika1" Camel kicked off the action with a raise to 120,000 from under the gun. "geovri" then went all-in from the cutoff for 1,609,216, and so did "GioPires21" from the small blind and "hello_totti" from the big blind, for 1,146,906 and 68,912 chips respectively.

This was too much for Camel, who got out of the way so that the other three players could battle it out.

"hello_totti": K10
"GioPires21": KK
"geovri": AK

"GioPires21" was in the best shape and remained so on the 46Q flop. The turn was the dreaded A, however. With no kings left in the deck to hit, he was drawing dead. "hello_totti" could not hit their gutshot straight draw either on the 3 river, and "geovri" scooped the entire pot, worth over 2,500,000 chips.

Huber Goes to War and Loses

Level 30 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 7,500 ante
Stefan Huber
Stefan Huber

Sebastian ''peace&loove'' Huber was one of three PokerStars Ambassadors still in the $1,050 Main Event when he three-bet "soulmekki"s 120,000 open from under the gun to 300,000 from middle position. The action folded back to the initial raiser and they paid the extra chips.

The flop of 485 went check-check before "soulmekki" fired 240,000 on the 10 turn. Huber made the call and the two players saw the J complete the board.

"soulmekki" did not relent and put Huber all-in for his last 898,851 chips. Huber made the call and saw the bad news. "soulmekki" tabled his 85 for a flopped two pair, outmatching Huber's turned pair with A10.

Huber made a deep run in the Main Event, but it was not enough to go beyond Day 2.

Astedt Ascends to Chip Lead with Two Full Houses

Level 29 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 6,000 ante
Niklas Åstedt
Niklas Åstedt

"13santoy13" raised from early position to 100,000 before Niklas "Lena900" Astedt made a three-bet to 300,000 from the button. The action folded back to "13santoy13", who clicked it back to 625,000. Astedt responded with a five-bet jam worth 2,077,500 and "13santoy13" made the call to put Astedt at risk.

Niklas "Lena900" Astedt: QQ
"13santoy13": AK

Astedt immediately flopped top set on QJ2 and locked up the pot once the 2 turn upgraded him to a full house. The meaningless 8 river was dealt and Astedt scooped up a pot of over four million.

That was not the end of his meteoric rise, however, as a few hands later he would get involved in a pot with Oleg "Fukuruku" Vasylchenko. Vasylchenko raised his button to 115,000 and Astedt defended his big blind. On the J68 flop, Vasylchenko continuation-bet for 99,990 and Astedt made the check-call.

The turn 6 came about and Astedt now took the betting lead with a small bet of 165,983. Vasylchenko was a non-believer and made the call.

When the 9 river completed the board, Astedt seemed to slow down and returned to a check. Vasylchenko took the opportunity to make a bet of 601,161 before Astedt sprung the trap and check-raised all-in for 1,813,995 more. Vasylchenko went deep into his time bank, but could not muster a fold.

He called and got shown that Astedt rivered a full house with his 96. Meanwhile, Vasylchenko was playing two pair with J9. A huge 5,667,258 pot was shipped Astedt's way and he conquered the overall chip lead.

Hoefer's Hopes Crushed

Level 29 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 6,000 ante

Paul "_pauL€FauL_" Hoefer jammed his last 430,896 chips in the middle from the hijack and received a call from "mellum3" in the cutoff, who played a covering stack. The rest of the table got out of the way and a showdown was had.

Paul "_pauL€FauL_" Hoefer: KQ
"mellum3": A10

Both players flopped a pair on KA8, but "mellum3"s was the higher one. The 8 turn left Hoefer with even fewer outs, and the 5 river sealed the deal. Hoefer was eliminated, while "mellum3" chipped up to over one million chips.

Mulders Just Has to Click the Call Button

Level 29 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 6,000 ante

Daan "DaanOss" Mulders opened the action from under the gun with a raise to 100,000. "crispeixoto" was in the big blind and made the call.

The flop of 6Q6 was checked by both players before "crispeixoto" led for 150,100 on the J turn. The 3 river saw "crispeixoto" put Mulders all-in for 455,463 and he swiftly called.

"crispeixoto" could only come up with ace-high as they showed their A9. Mulders, on the other hand, was sitting comfortably on a full house with his JJ and raked in a full double-up.

Joris Ruijs
Joris Ruijs

Joris "BillLewinsky" Ruijs opened to 80,000 from early position and the action folded to "!Mp!yavv" in the big blind. They went all-in for 641,246 chips, barely covering Ruijs' stack by 64,160. Ruijs made the call and the cards were tabled.

Joris "BillLewinsky" Ruijs: A10
"!Mp!yavv": 1010

Ruijs could not hit an ace on the 4K3KQ runout and that spelled the end of his tournament.
