The 2019 Seminole Hard Rock May Deep Stack Poker Series Event #1: $350 DeepStack NLH attracted 752 entries (225 on 1a, 200 1b, and 327 1c), but just before the start of Day 2 on Sunday 15 players jumped into action to bring the total field up to 767 entries.

That generated a $230,100 prize pool with the eventual winner slated to take home $41,412. After 15 hours of play on Day 2, the field was whittled down to the final six with Guillermo Reyes and his stack of 11.175 million leading the way.

The remaining players are slated to return Monday afternoon to play down to a winner with action resuming in Level 27 (30,000/60,000/60,000) with 28:52 remaining on the clock.

The bubble burst shortly after the first break of the day when there were two simultaneous eliminations at different tables. As a result, Chris Nomikos and Javier Sarache both bubbled, albeit by splitting the $504 that was reserved for 96th place.

From there the eliminations came quick and included 2015 Seminole Hard Rock Player of the Year Ory Hen (12th - $,428), Steve Karp (21st - $1,848), Day 1c chip leader Adam Horowitz (29th - $1,075), Mike Newman (30th - $1,075), Matt Yorra (43rd - $937), Day 1b chip leader Sean Shah (49th - $828), start-of-the-day chip leader Aaron Klausman (51st - $828), Ariel Quintana (70th - $683), Daniel Pearlman (78th - $619), and Henry Billete (95th - $504).

Regarding Hen, he exited in the penultimate level of the night when he jammed his last 12 big blinds holding ace-six of diamonds on the button only to have Aleksandr Shevelev wake up with two black nines in the big blind. Hen turned both straight and flush draws, but as he said it was “too many outs.” The river was a brick and Hen hit the rail in 12th place for a $3,428 payday.

At the final table, Robert Mantin bowed out in ninth place after running ace-nine into Richard Perea’s ace-ten. Mantin failed to get lucky and had to settle for ninth place and $4,142 in prize money.

Perea also hit the rail in eighth place for $5,518 before Reyes won a monster against Ryan Van Sanford. Both players flopped a pair of aces, but the latter’s kicker was good. That is until Reyes paired his on the river to make two pair and vault over 11 million in chips.

Play will resume at 2 p.m. EDT on Monday. Additionally, the $560 buy-in The Deeper Stack will begin at 11 a.m. local time. Ryan Van Sanford Eliminated in 7th Place ($6,938)

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Ryan Van Sanford - 7th Place
Ryan Van Sanford - 7th Place

With roughly 900,000 in the pot and a flop of {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}, Guillermo Reyes bet 400,000 from the under-the-gun position and Ryan Van Sanford raised to 1 million from the hijack.

Reyes responded by moving all in and Van Sanford called off the 1.3 million or so he had behind.

Van Sanford: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Reyes: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Van Sanford had the better kicker with his paired ace and he was primed for a double. The {6-Diamonds} turn was of no consequence but the {10-Clubs} river was as Reyes made two pair to steal the hand.

"Nice hand," Van Sanford offered before heading to the payout desk.

Richard Perea Eliminated in 8th Place ($5,518)

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Richard Perea - 8th Place
Richard Perea - 8th Place

Richard Perea jammed the last of his chips all in on a {7-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop and found himself in a bad spot against chip leader Guillermo Reyes.

Reyes: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Perea: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Reyes had flopped a set and that left Perea looking for a ten to make a straight.

The {7-Hearts} turn took away that option as Reyes filled up to secure the hand. The meaningless {a-Spades} was run out on the river and Perea headed for the exit.

Kohan Wins Flip to Double

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

After Ryan Van Sanford opened for 125,000 under the gun, Nicolas Alberto Kohan moved all in for 1.3 million from middle position. Richard Perea called from the button, both blinds folded, and Van Sanford got out of the way.

Kohan: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Perea: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

It was a flip and Kohan was just looking to hold to ship the double. That's just what he did when the board ran out a safe {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{j-Diamonds}.

Reyes Puts Shevelev to the Test

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

There was already a million in the pot and a board reading {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds} when Aleksandr Shevelev checked from the big blind and Guillermo Reyes bet 1 million from middle position.

Shevelev called and then checked again on the {5-Spades} river. Reyes moved all in for 3.9 million and Shevelev, who had 3.8 million back, hit the tank for over five minutes.

Eventually, he folded and Reyes showed him the {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

Last Break of the Night

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

The final eight players are now on their last 10-minute break of the night. The plan right now is to play until 3 a.m. unless all remaining players agree to play beyond that. Stay tuned as we bring you all the action.

Aloush Doubles Through Perea

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

After Ryan Van Sanford raised to 100,000 under the gun, Eitan Aloush moved all in for 875,000 next to act. Richard Perea flatted the button, both blinds folded, and Van Sanford got out of the way.

Perea: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Aloush: {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

Aloush was behind but got lucky to take the lead on the {q-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop. Neither the {8-Spades} turn nor {6-Diamonds} river changed a thing and Aloush shipped the double.

Robert Mantin Eliminated in 9th Place ($4,142)

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Robert Mantin - 9th Place
Robert Mantin - 9th Place

Robert Mantin was all in preflop for 1 million and in dire straits against Richard Perea.

Perea: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Mantin: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}

Mantin had the inferior ace and things got worse when the {4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{j-Clubs} flop paired Perea. The {2-Spades} turn left Mantin drawing dead and he headed for the payout desk after the {4-Spades} was run out on the river.
