Karp Busts While Zarcadoolas Triples

Level 23 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Steve Karp
Steve Karp

The preflop action escaped us but we do know it resulted in a three-way all-in pot. Steve Karp was all in for 430,000 and Matthew Zarcadoolas for 450,000. Antonio Albanes had them both covered and at risk.

Karp: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Zarcadoolas: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Albanes: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Zarcadoolas had the best of it and his hand held after a {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{2-Spades} run out. Karp exited in 21st place for $1,848 while Zarcadoolas essentially tripled in the hand.

Shevelev Doubles Through and Then Eliminates Mahabee

Level 23 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Nicholas Mahabee
Nicholas Mahabee

Aleksandr Shevelev opened with a raise only to have Nicholas Mahabee three-bet to 125,000 from the button. Both blinds folded and Shevelev four-bet all in for 545,000. Mahabee thought long and hard before making the call.

Shevelev: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Mahabee: {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

Shevelev had the better pocket pair and it held when the board ran out {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. Mahabee was left with just 370,000 after the hand.

Fast forward an orbit and Shevelev raised to 65,000 from the cutoff. Mahabee moved all in for his last 155,000 from the big blind and Shevelev quickly called.

Shevelev: {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Mahabee: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

Mahabee had lost with pocket fives and he was eliminated by them after the board ran out {j-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{3-Clubs}.

Mark Your Calendars for The $1,650 Deepest Stack

Level 23 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Seminole Hard Rock
Seminole Hard Rock

For the next week and a half, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood is playing host to the Seminole Hard Rock May Deep Stack Poker Series. In addition to this tournament, the series is comprised of two others including the $1,650 buy-in Deepest Stack NLH (Re-Entry) $300,000 GTD, which will run May 23-27.

Players will start with 50,000 in chips and play 40-minute levels through Level 14. Levels 15-26 will last 60 minutes each with Levels 27+ will switch to 90 minutes. Heads-up play will revert to 40-minute levels.

The plan for the Day 1 flights is to play through Level 14. Late registration and unlimited re-entries will be allowed until the start of Day 2. Like the Deep Stack, this is not a best-stack forward event.

Last year, Chris Bolek topped a 349-entry field to win the Deepest Stack Main Event for $94,544 after a heads-up deal with TK Miles. Other past winners include Geddes Cooper, who topped a 465-entry field to win it in 2017 for $112,771, and Scott Heiligman, who bested 367 entries in 2016 to win it for $121,202.

Van Sanford Doubles Through Mahabee

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Ryan Van Sanford (left) and Nicholas Mahabee
Ryan Van Sanford (left) and Nicholas Mahabee

With approximately 125,000 in the pot and a flop of {3-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, unknown action resulted in Ryan Van Sanford getting his stack of 595,000 all in against Nicholas Mahabee.

Mahabee: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Van Sanford: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Van Sanford had the better pocket pair and was looking to dodge one of two sevens. The {k-Hearts} turn made it one seven as Van Sanford had the only heart draw.

The river was actually the {7-Hearts} to give Mahabee a set, but it wasn't the seven he wanted as Van Sanford made a flush to score the double.
