Tanner Prayed for a Nine

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

A player jammed their short stack from under the gun for just a few blinds before the hijack isolated to 57,000. On the button, Tanner Pray jammed for his 175,000 stack. It folded back to the hijack who called after some deliberation as the covering stack.

Under the Gun: 54 All in
Tanner Pray: 99 All in
Hijack: QQ

Pray needed some help to stay alive in the massive sidepot, which he found on the 932 flop, while the other player picked up an open-ended straight draw. However, the 3 turn gave Pray top boat, and he faded the two-outer on the 10 river to drag a huge one.

Moussa Haddad
Moussa Haddad

Moussa Haddad opened to 16,000 from the hijack before the cutoff three-bet to 55,000, and Haddad called.

On the AQ2 flop, Haddad checked to the cutoff who bet 35,000 before Haddad instantly check-jammed for his 149,000 stack. This would send his opponent into a small tank before he reluctantly let his hand go, and Haddad dragged one without showdown.

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Greg Nelson
Greg Nelson

Tyson Apostol opened to 9,000 from early position and was called by Greg Nelson in the small blind, as well as the big blind.

On the AAJ flop, Apostol continued for 16,000 and only Nelson called.

Nelson checked again on the 5 turn as Apostol bet 25,000 and Nelson called again.

On the 7 river, Nelson quickly led all in for his final 93,000, and Apostol did not take long before he tossed in the call.

Greg Nelson: A2 All in
Tyson Apostol: KJ

Nelson flopped trips and rivered the nut flush, while Apostol could not get away from his jack as his stack took a massive hit.

The next hand, Apostol jammed for 38,000 under the gun and was eliminated after getting four-flushed on the river.

Official Statement from Talking Stick Regarding Structure Adjustment

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Tournament Clock
Tournament Clock

There were some minor inconsistencies in the tournament structure between Day 1a and Day 1b, and the officials at the Talking Stick Resort have issued the following statement in acknowledgement of the error:

------------------

"Talking Stick Resort values our poker community and feel it is important to share and update you on the following information.

During Day 1B of the Arizona State Poker Championship, we became aware that a level had inadvertently been skipped during Day 1A.

By the time the discrepancy was identified, Day 1B had progressed to a point where it was no longer possible to make an adjustment without creating additional inconsistencies between the four starting flights.

In the spirit of transparency and in keeping with our Enterprise Core Values, we want to make our players and the poker community aware of what occurred.

We are currently working with our IT department and Bravo to investigate the cause and determine how the level was skipped. We are also reviewing our processes to help prevent a similar issue from occurring in the future.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused. We appreciate the understanding of our players and remain committed to providing a fair, consistent, and professionally operated tournament experience."
