Sicconi Shows the Bluff

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Alice Sicconi
Alice Sicconi

On a flop of J46, Alice Sicconi on the button bet 2,000, but the small blind check-raised to 5,500.

The big blind folded, but Sicconi put two blue chips worth 5,000 each in front of her to raise again. But as she didn't say anything, this action was considered as a call by the dealer, and the tournament director confirmed this decision.

The 4 came on the turn, and the small blind checked. Sicconi took this opportunity to bet 8,000 and make her opponent fold. She didn't wait to reveal 107 and scooped the pot.

Fournier Swerves Aces

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Gregory Fournier opened to 1,500 under the gun and was faced with a three-bet to 4,000 by Michel Leibgorin on the button. Action folded back to Fournier, who called.

On the 8J7 flop, Fournier checked to his opponent, who put out a huge overbet of 26,000. It seemed like Leibgorin meant to bet 2,600 and, after some thought, Fournier folded.

As he raked in the pot, Leibgorin flashed AA for a pair of aces.

Lakhdari Doubles Up with the Nut Straight

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

On a board of 410QA with 21,800 in the pot, Adrien Sanz shoved from middle position for 14,900. Omar Lakhdari in the cutoff immediately flipped over his cards to call with a slightly shortest stack.

Omar Lakhdari: KJ All in
Adrien Sanz: K10

Lakhdari had the best straight possible, so he doubled up after the 10 turn. After this hand, Sanz was left with only 200. He was eliminated shortly after.

Koja Tangles With Tytgat

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Jean Koja
Jean Koja

In the previous hand Nicolas Tytgat and Jean Koja ended up all-in preflop, both from early position, with both holding ace-king and leading to a chopped pot.

Tytgat opened under the gun to 1,600 in the next hand and received calls from Alexandre Dana on the button and Koja in the big blind.

On the 1042 flop Koja checked and Tytgat slid out a bet of 2,800. Dana folded and Koja called.

The 5 rolled off on the turn, and Koja checked once more. Tytgat pondered the position for a moment, before putting out a bet of 9,000.

Koja glanced at his opponent, before he reached for chips and produced a check-raise to 30,000, with Tytgat's cards hitting the muck almost before Koja's chips were in the middle, sending Koja a nice pot.

Charbit Continues to Build Monster Stack

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Jean-Paul Charbit
Jean-Paul Charbit

Cedric Ghanassia opened to 2,000 from under the gun and was met with a three-bet to 4,200 from chipleader Jean-Paul Charbit. The small blind cold-called, and Ghanassia also called.

Action was checked to Charbit on the Q53 flop, who fired out a huge overbet of 225,000. The small blind quickly folded, but Ghanassia, looking perplexed, thought the spot over before moving the rest of his chips, around 65,000, into the middle.

Cedric Ghanassia: KQ All in
Jean-Paul Charbit: AA

Ghanassia's top pair queens had run into Charbit's aces, and he was not saved by the J turn and J river, allowing Charbit to claim another scalp and add to his already huge stack.
