Da Matta and Lipshitz Chip Up

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

In three-way action to the QJ10 flop, Nic Ioannoy and Yoni Lipshitz checked and the latter was the only one to call a bet worth 15,000 by Mark Wright as the third player in the pot. Lipshitz check-called for 25,000 each on the 2 turn and 6 river to get shown A9 by Wright, which he had beat with the KQ.

One table over, Franco Da Matta tangled with Ariel Mazabow and led the loaded pot to the J844 turn for 58,000 to win the pot without further resistance.

Lipshitz Battles With Ioannoy

Level 16 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Heads-up to the AJ5 flop, Nic Ioannoy bet 15,000 and Yoni Lipshitz called in the hijack. The 9 turn saw Ioannoy fire another 35,000 for Lipshitz to call and the former then checked the 8 on the river.

Lipshitz used a time bank and bet 45,000 with around as much behind. Ioannoy asked him how much he was playing before eventually folding the 103 face-up, mumbling "I should have bet more."

Three full ring tables of eight players each returned from the break with 15 survivors set as the goal for tonight.

Stephen Kurland was short and earned a first double through Ariel Mazabow with A6 versus K6 for 25,000 thanks to a board of J9527.

He was then all-in for some 55,000 with K5 against the QJ of Keegan Naidoo. The K4339 board earned another double.

Marko Nortje raised to 10,000 and Nic Ioannoy called before Richard Barnard jammed a short stack out of the small blind. Nortje called and then faced the reshove by Ioannoy for 102,500 total which he opted to call, too.

Richard Barnard: KK All in
Nic Ioannoy: A10 All in
Marko Nortje: 33

The AJ10J9 board saw Barnard crash out while Ioannoy more than doubled.

Two Eliminations before the Break

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Only some 24 players remain in the fourth break of the day and there were two eliminations just before that.

A short stack went in for only 8,000 and Stephen Kurland did so for little more holding the K2. He was up against J10 and the K54105 board changed nothing in the preflop order.

Yoni Lipshitz then won the last hand before the break when he jammed into a bet of 21,000 on a completed board of A624Q. His opponent tank-called and Lipshitz tabled his 66 for a flopped set, the other cards went flying into the muck.

Another ten-minute break is underway.
