Lee Cannot Shake Off Mendoza

Level 6 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
James Mendoza
James Mendoza

In a three-bet pot to the A85 flop, James Mendoza in the small blind continued for 15,500 and Calvin Lee called from under the gun. The 3 turn slowed down Mendoza and he checked, Lee bet 26,000 and Mendoza called.

That led them to the 7 river on which Mendoza checked again. Lee grabbed all but two of his chips after some consideration and his bet was worth 139,000 with 1,500 behind. Mendoza reluctantly called and his AQ was good, as Lee only had the JJ.

One hand later, he was forced all-in from the big blind and Yu Zhao limped in from under the gun. Bin Leng raised to 10,000 and Zhao folded.

Calvin Lee: J4 All in
Bin Leng: A6

The Q10107K board sent Lee to the registration desk and he will certainly re-enter shortly. In the meanwhile, Viet Nam's Toan Chan Truong knocked out Martin Sedlak one table over to reduce the field further.

Duel of Short Stacks Goes to Zhang

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Yang Liu raised to 5,500 and Jingjie Zhang then three-bet to 19,000. Once the action folded back to Liu, he asked in Chinese how many chips his opponent had total before he proceeded with the call. On the A93 flop, Zhang sized down to 7,500 but it was still enough to win the pot without any further resistance.

She Builds a Stack with a House

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

There was a raise to 6,000 from lucky boy 2 in early position and Jumiao She three-bet to 16,000 in the hijack. It folded back to lucky boy 2 who called to see a flop of AQ9. She continued with a bet of 10,000 and lucky boy 2 check-called to see the A on the turn.

After another check, She flicked in a bet of 25,000 and lucky boy 2 stuck around for the 4 on the river. This time, lucky boy 2 led out with a bet of 25,000 and She min-raised to 50,000. A sigh call followed from lucky boy 2 as She turned over QQ for a full house to win the pot.

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Haohui Ma had re-entered and drew the very same seat he previously busted from and took on none other than Liang Chen in a duel button versus big blind. Chen checked the 963A5 river and reluctantly paid off Ma's bet of 36,000 to get shown the K10 for the nut flush.

Song Had Enough!

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

The action folded to Yunkyu Song in the small blind who just limped in and Chenghui Song ripped all in for 117,500 from the big blind. Song in the small blind asked for a count and gave it some thought before folding, only to be shown Q2 from Song in the big blind.

On the next hand, Charles Chao raised to 6,000 in middle position and Chenghui Song shoved all in again from the small blind. Chao quickly called and the cards were tabled.

Chenghui Song: A10All in

The board ran out A4374 and Chao's queen-kicker was enough to eliminate Song who headed straight to the baccarat table.

Leng Takes From Cates

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Dan Cates raised to 6,000 and Bin Leng three-bet to 16,000 two seats over, which Cates called. Both joked in English about ace-king and Cates was smirking ahead of the AK7 flop, which brought the ace and king. Cates checked and Leng bet for the win to win the pot instantly.

Cates still has the best of it with more than two times the starting stack and the AAPoker brand ambassador is among the chip leaders in the field.
