Gavin Finds a Double

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Three players headed to a flop of K74 and the action checked to Gavin who flicked in a bet of 5,000. Zhengpeng Liu check-raised to 16,000 and Dong Chen flat-called in the middle. Gavin moved all in for 38,000 and Liu raised the minimum to 60,000 which forced Chen out.

Gavin: K10All in
Zhengpeng Liu: 99

Gavin found himself well out front with a pair of kings, leaving Liu drawing to just outs. The K on the turn nor the 7 on the river were any help as Liu passed over a double up.

Ma Eliminated by Chen

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Haohui Ma
Haohui Ma

The chips go into the middle preflop with Haohui Ma all-in and at risk for around 109,000 with the KK. He is up against Liang Chen with the AQ and the KJ10 flop delivers top set versus broadway, as the chips would have gone in by that time anyways.

Nothing changes with the 2 turn and 8 river to send Ma to the rail soon after the dinner break.

There was a reraise to 20,000 out in front of Guangcheng Chen and he then faced the all-in shoves by Julian Warhurst for 175,500 and the call by Yi Yang for 161,000. After some consideration, Chen folded the QQ face-up.

Yi Yang: AA All in
Julian Warhurst: KK

There was no upset on the 97469 runout and Yang left Warhurst on fumes right before the dinner break.

Zhu Gets a Little Value with Two Pair

Level 4 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The action folded around to COOLER and Xiao Zhu in the blinds who just limped in to see a flop of Q109. COOLER checked to Zhu who made a bet of 5,000 only to have COOLER check-raise to 12,000, which Zhu called.

The turn was the 8 and both players checked to the 6 on the river. COOLER checked again and Zhu made a small bet of 10,000. COOLER called and Zhu turned over Q8 for two pair to claim the pot.

Level 4 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Nevan Chang

After a couple of preflop raises, Nevan Chang found himself all in and at risk for a little over 80,000 chips. Pan Wang was the player to call and put Chang at risk and the cards were on their backs.

Nevan Chang: AKAll in
Pan Wang: QQ

It was a classic flip and the flop of 753 left Wang in the lead with his pocket pair. The 2 and 8 runout was no help to Chang who headed to the registration desk for another entry.

Barer Doubles Through Gavin

Level 4 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Ami Barer three-bet out of the small blind and Gavin called from under the gun. On the K104 flop, Barer continued for 17,000 and Gavin came along to the 6 turn on which Barer checked. Gavin bet 50,000 and Barer called.

The 5 fell on the river and Barer checked, prompting the shove by Gavin with the covering stack. Barer eventually called after mulling it over for a short while as Gavin rolled over the 53 for a busted double draw and rivered pair of fives. Barer earned the double for 98,000 with the KJ and then joked "he just knew the turn was a six".
