Nitsche Eliminated by Leng's Quads

Level 16 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Dominik Nitsche
Dominik Nitsche

Dominik Nitsche and Guangcheng Chen limped in and Bin Leng raised to 85,000, which only Nitsche called to then check the 975 flop. Leng bet 65,000 and once Nitsche called, Leng sighed an "why you call?". The 5 turn paired the board and both players checked to see the K on the river.

Nitsche now bet 215,000 with 5,000 behind and called all-in when Leng raised to reveal his KQ for kings and fives. In the same motion, Leng rolled over his 55 for quads fives to score the knockout in style.

Ooi No Longer in Contention

Level 16 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Junbo Qu
Junbo Qu

After cruising with a big stack earlier today, Sean Ooi had been forced to re-enter and never got much going thereafter. He eventually ended up all-in with QJ for top pair but was dominated by Junbo Qu and his KQ. The Q6548 board changed nothing whatsoever and Qu celebrated the knockout by banging his hand on the table in excitement.

Weijue Cai raised to 40,000 and earned one caller. Jiaweu Lu then three-bet to 130,000 but folded when Cai moved all-in.

Soon after, Lu on the button tangled with Quan Zhou in the big blind and the latter bet the 933K turn for 125,000 into 275,000. Lu jammed with the 66 and Zhou called holding the K2 and held on the 10 river.

Renji Mao opened to 35,000 in early position and Yuefeng Pan shoved all in for 140,000 on his left. Taylor Black also pushed all in for 340,000 in the small blind and Mao quickly called as the big stack.

Taylor Black: AAAll in
Renji Mao: KK

It was a cooler between Black and Mao with Pan stuck in the middle as the short stack. The board ran out Q7328 and Mao nearly scored a double elimination after picking up a flush draw but instead was forced to concede a healthy pot to Black.

Barer Earns a Knockout

Level 14 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

The chips continue to fly left and right during the final stages of the re-entry period and the latest player to bust has been Guangcheng Chen. He put his hopes on Q7 for second pair on the 1076 flop and Ami Barer looked him up with A10 for the top pair and top kicker.

Nothing changed with the 5 turn and 2 river and the field of hopefuls was reduced by one for the time being.

Playing Blind Doesn't Result in Anything Different for Zhang

Level 14 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Ivan Zhang just returned to his previous seat and blindly raised to 25,000 from under the gun. Marius Gierse raised the minimum on the button and Zhang piled all in for 250,000. Gierse looked him up and the cards were tabled.

Ivan Zhang: 42All in
Marius Gierse: 109

The flop of 933 put Gierse way out front with two pair. However, the 5 on the turn gave Zhang a straight draw but the 3 on the river only improved Gierse to a full house to send Zhang back to the registration desk.

Chao Out and Back In

Level 13 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Charles Chao
Charles Chao

Charles Chao raised to 50,000 from under the gun and the action folded to Quan Zhou in the big blind, who used one time bank extension.

Ivan Zhang pointed out to Patrik Demus "open raise fifty" just before Zhou opted to call and check the [7s5d43h] flop. Chao moved all-in and Zhou instantly called.

Charles Chao: QQ All in
Quan Zhou: 53

The 6 turn and K river changed nothing and the entire table cracked up. With a dry voice, Demus mentioned "raise too small".

Chao re-entered and took the seat vacated by Christopher Park only moments earlier.
