Gary Thompson quickly climbed the leaderboard after the dinner break and was sitting on a stack of nearly 3,000,000 chips. After Martin Nielsen raised to 50,000 in middle position, Thompson defended from the big blind.

The flop fell A♣J♠J♦ and Thompson check-called a bet of 25,000 from Nielsen. The turn was the 3♠ and both players checked to the K♥ on the river. Thompson checked once more and Nielsen put together a bet of 115,000. Thompson quickly called and Nielsen showed A♥K♣ for a winner.

Once the cards were revealed, Pang grimaced when he was shown the A♥A♣ of Wu as he only held the 8♥5♣.

There were some groans on the 7♠6♣3♠ flop when Pang had an open-ended straight draw. It missed on the 2♥ turn but the 4♥ river sent Wu to the rail.
