Marchitti Showers a Shorty

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Nick Marchitti
Nick Marchitti

Nick Marchitti opened the action with a raise to 1,200 in middle position and received a call from Ryan Dodson on the button. The big blind also came along to bring three-way action to a flop of {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. The big blind checked and Marchitti continuation-bet 2,600, prompting a fold from Dodson. The big blind then went into the tank for over a minute before calling.

The turn came {6-Spades} and the big blind checked again. Marchitti fired a second barrel of 3,000 and nearly another minute went by before the big blind check-jammed for 5,900. Marchitti wasted no time dropping in a chip to call.

Big Blind: {a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Nick Marchitti: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

Marchitti only needed to fade the three remaining fours in the deck to earn the knockout, and he did so with ease as {j-Clubs} completed the runout.

Saturday's Satellite - Ironman Turbo Structure Announced

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante
Bally's Black Hawk
Bally's Black Hawk

In order to accommodate for the demand of Saturday's Day 1d flight of the MSPT Black Hawk $360 Regional, tomorrow's 10 a.m. $80 Mega Satellite has seen a change in structure.

The tournament will now be played as an "Ironman" event, meaning there will be no breaks. Levels will last 10 minutes instead of the normal 20 in order to have the tournament finish around noon, when the $360 Regional is set to begin.

All players should be aware of this change as to not be surprised when they come register. Furthermore, everybody wishing to play on Day 1d is advised to come early as there is a legitimate chance that registration lines will make it out the door. Registration begins at 10 a.m., so be sure to plan accordingly.

Bjorkman Rivers Wilkie To Double

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante
Chad Bjorkman
Chad Bjorkman

Just before the break, a hand ensued on Table 3 where action saw a single-raised pot go multiple ways to a flop of {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. A player in early position bet 1,600 and received a call from Chad Bjorkman in the hijack. Steve WIlkie then raised to 10,000 in the cutoff and received a call only from Bjorkman.

The turn came {4-Hearts} and Bjorkman checked. Wilkie announced he was all in for Bjorkman's remaining stack of around 10,000 more, and Bjorkman called.

Chad Bjorkman: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Steve Wilkie: {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}

Bjorkman's tens were left with seven outs to improve and double, and one of those seven came on the river {j-Clubs}.

"YES!" yelled Bjorkman after completing the straight, standing up with a violent fist pump that sent his chair flying onto its back behind him. The pot was then sent his way and he collected his chips.

Pallath Coolers an Opponent

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Joey Pallath
Joey Pallath

A raised pot preflop saw all of the chips go into the middle on a flop of {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{k-Hearts} with Joey Pallath in middle position having an opponent in the small blind at risk with a slightly-covering stack.

All-In Player: {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Joey Pallath: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

The small blind had flopped bottom two pair but had run it into Pallath's aces, leaving him in need of running cards to quads or Broadway for a chop. The turn {9-Clubs} made neither of those possible and the river {9-Spades} unnecessarily improved him further to a full house.
