Scott Gets a Dub

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Andrew Pettenger pumped it up to 3,000 in early position and saw Ronald Scott re-jam for 21,400 on the button. The small blind came over the top, forcing a fold from Pettenger.

Ronald Scott: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Small Blind: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Scott's tens held through the runout {5-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{2-Spades} to score him the easy double.

Travis Northrope

Travis Northrope raised to 2,200 under the gun and saw action fold around to the small blind, who re-jammed for 13,200.

"I call. I have ace-king," said Northrope, turning over {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. The all-in player tabled {a-Spades}{3-Spades} and was unable to find help as the board ran out {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} to result in Northrope taking down the pot and eliminating the player from the tournament.

Lemirande Finds a Double and More

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Doug Lemirande
Doug Lemirande

A three-way preflop all-in scenario ensued with Doug Lemirande being at risk for his tournament life on the button with a chance to win both the main- and side pots. The shortest stack of the three got her chips in from early position, with a player in middle position having his eyes set on a double knockout.

Early Position: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
Doug Lemirande: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Middle Position: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

Lemirande made the nuts by the turn on a runout {6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{q-Spades} and scooped both pots with his flush. His stack was counted to be 20,900 and he now finds himself with over two starting stacks after winning the hand.

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Andrew Pettenger
Andrew Pettenger

A player raised to 2,000 in early position and was called in middle position. Andrew Pettenger was in the small blind and three-bet to 11,000, with the early-position opener being the only taker and calling all in for less.

All-In Player: {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Andrew Pettenger: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The flop {5-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} gave Pettenger top pair, top kicker, but his opponent still had six combined outs to make a better hand. The turn {10-Spades} and river {j-Clubs} both fell in Pettenger's favor and he scored the pot and the knockout as a result.

McDowell Fades the Two Outer

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

A pile of chips was already in the middle in a heads-up pot between Aaron Frei in the big blind and Donnie McDowell; who was under the gun before McDowell's remaining 25,200 went in on the turn of a board reading {j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}.

Donnie McDowell: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Aaron Frei: {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

McDowell got it in with a full house but Frei still had two straight-flush outs to pull ahead. However, neither came on the river {7-Clubs} and McDowell scored the double.
