Aftab Shakoor Eliminated in 6th Place ($13,445)

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Aftab Shakoor - 6th place
Aftab Shakoor - 6th place

Aftab Shakoor opened for 25,000 and it was folded to Steve Karp in the big blind. After about 30 seconds, Karp announced "all in" and was immediately called by Shakoor. Karp had {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and was in front of Shakoor and his {A-Spades}{J-Spades}.

The flop of {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} changed nothing. The turn was the {2-Hearts} and Shakoor needed an ace to stay alive. The river was the {4-Diamonds} and Shakoor wished everyone luck as he was eliminated in sixth place for $13,445. Karp moved to second in chips with 600,000 with that pot.

Steve Karp Doubles Through Josh Kay

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

It was folded to Steve Karp in the small blind who moved all in for 187,000 total. Josh Kay took two minutes before quietly announcing a call and turning over {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Karp turned over {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}.

The flop was {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} moving Kay into the lead but Karp still had two overs to now go with the nut flush draw. He would hit the flush on the {3-Hearts} turn and the river was the meaningless {3-Clubs}. Karp moved to 390,000 and Kay ended the hand with just slightly more than that with 400,000.

Spiderman Check-Raises the River

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Spidey Senses in full effect?
Spidey Senses in full effect?

With approximately 135,000 in the pot and the board showing {Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, Ryan Franklin checked. Josh Kay put out a bet of 55,000 and Franklin, zipped up in his Spiderman hoodie, put out a check-raise to 200,000. This left him with approximately 100,000 behind.

Kay went into the tank for a couple minutes but relented to give the pot to Franklin.

Jimmy Pashaj Eliminated in 7th Place ($10,394)

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Jimmy Pashaj

Jimmy Pashaj opened to 25,000 and it was folded to Aristoteles Neto who raised it up to 85,000. The action got back to Pashaj who wasted little time before moving all in for approximately 340,000. Neto snap-called.

"You called?" said Pashaj. Neto nodded and Pashaj tabled {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Neto had him dominated with {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Pashaj made a beeline for the exit, eliminated in seventh place for $10,394.

John Ott Eliminated in 8th Place ($8,165)

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Joe Ebanks started the action with a minimum raise of 20,000 from the cutoff. Aristoteles Neto made the call from the small blind and John Ott snap-shoved from the big blind for 145,000 total.

After the dealer counted down Ott's stack, Ebanks peeked back at his cards and announced that he was also all in. "You were getting called no matter what," Neto said to Ott as he folded {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts} face up. Ott had {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and was in bad shape against Ebanks and his {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

The flop came {A-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} to give Ott a little hope. The turn gave him more outs as it was the {4-Clubs}. The river did not improve his hand, however, as it was the {4-Spades} and Ott was eliminated in eighth place for $8,165.

Richard Bowers Eliminated in 9th Place ($6,518)

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Richard Bowers - 9th Place
Richard Bowers - 9th Place

Aristoteles Neto opened for 25,000 and Rick Bowers moved all in for approximately 230,000. It was folded back to Neto who asked how much it was and then slid forward a stack of chips to indicate a call while turning over {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}.

Bowers stood up and turned over {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}. The dealer put out a flop of {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} to keep him in the lead but the {K-Spades} on the turn meant only an eight would keep Bowers in the tournament. The river was the {3-Spades} and Bowers studied the board closely before muttering "hmmmmm" to himself. "Good game guys," he said, gathering his things.

Neto continues to hold the chip lead and is the first to top a million in chips.

Shakoor Doubles Again

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Aftab Shakoor was all in and at risk against John Ott and the two were racing with Shakoor holding {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and Ott {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}. The flop came {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades} to keep Ott in the lead and he would keep that lead on the {5-Clubs} turn. Shakoor needed an ace, king, or queen on the river to stay alive and would do just that when the dealer put out the {K-Hearts}. A fist pump and celebratory clap came from Shakoor as he has moved from 73,000 to start the day to 375,000.

Ott fell to 175,000. He needs seventh to tie for PPC Player of the Year and sixth to win it so it's looking like he will need to hit at least one double up in order to do that.
