Charlie Carrel Wins the Triton £50,000 8-Handed No Limit Hold'em for £1,321,000; Jumps into £100k

Charlie Carrel has defeated partypoker ambassador Jason Koon heads-up to win the 2019 Triton £50,000 8-Handed No Limit Hold'em event for £1,321,000.

Carrell's win sees him jump into third-place on the England all-time money list and now sits behind only Sam Trickett and Stephen Chidwick.

The event saw 109 entries take part and an extra day was needed for the heads-up matched to be completed.

Carrel spoke to the media straight after his victory, then immediately jumped into the £100k field.

Xuan Pushes Smith Out of the Pot

The completed board showed {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{k-Spades} and there was around 150,000 in the pot. Dan Smith checked to Tan Xuan who fired in a large bet and Smith instantly released his hand, shipping the pot to Xuan.

"Why didn't you bet?" Xuan asked.

"These stakes are too high!" joked Smith.
