Brazil's Alisson Piekazewicz has to be feeling good about himself after making an epic hero call against one of the toughest opponents on the felt: Alex Foxen.
The bold play took place during Day 1A of the $8,000 Triton ONE Main Event on South Korea's Jeju island, the marquee attraction of the first-ever Triton ONE festival catering to the next generation of star poker players.
Small pairs are always tricky to play without making a set or better, but Piekazewicz had no trouble with pocket fours against the high-stakes pro with $51.4 million in Hendon Mob earnings. Piekazewicz is no slouch himself and has $2.1 million in live earnings, including a victory at European Poker Tour (EPT) Monte Carlo earlier this year that earned him $208,626.
Taiwan's Hsing-Hsiung Tai was chipped down to only 425,000 when he pushed all-in from an early position and Joshua McCully called in the next seat, all other players folded.
Hsing-Hsiung Tai: K♣J♣
Joshua McCully: A♠A♣
The Aussie's rockets stayed ahead on the 9♥6♠2♣7♣K♠ board and Tai bowed out in 151st place.

Ning Lu opened to 100,000 in the cutoff and Konstantin Held three-bet jammed for 1,300,000 in the small blind. Lu called with slightly more.
Konstantin Held: 7♠7♥
Ning Lu: 9♠9♥
"Show a seven," Held said after seeing he was dominated, which proved to be bad karma as the flop landed A♣9♣5♣ to give Lu a set.
Held ended up getting what he wanted as the board finished out 2♣7♦, but it wasn't enough to save him from elimination.
