Day 2 Completed
The penultimate day of the first-ever $8,000 Triton ONE Main Event reached its conclusion in the wee hours of Monday with 16 players remaining on the quest for the title and top prize of $1,367,000.
The Triton ONE Main Event drew 1,046 runners for a prize pool of $7,607,558. Out in front at the end of Day 2 is China's Yuefeng Pan, who bagged a stack of 33,900,000 over big stacks [Removed:546] (32,775,000) and Ruogo Wen (28,725,000).
Further down in the counts but still in the running are high-stakes pros Igor Yaroshevskyy and Punnat Punsri, while Teoh Ming Juen and Takashi Yagura will have their work cut out for them on Day 3 as the short stacks.

The day began with 218 players remaining and it didn't take long to reach the money bubble with only 167 places paid. Those who were eliminated before reaching the money include Roman Hrabec, David Wang, Phachara Wongwichit, Xixiang Luo, Mustapha Kanit and Stephen Song.
Ye Li fell on the soft bubble as her top two pair were crushed by the top set of Mehdi Chaoui, while Daniil Vasilev, Hongjun Zhao and Quan Qiu were all lucky enough to double up to avoid losing out on a payday.
There were two more doubles and a chop before Yuan Xu was forced all in from the big blind and unable to survive.
The bustouts only got quicker from there, including the eliminations of Germany's Konstantin Held (144th - $12,200), American pros Steve O'Dwyer (127th - $13,200), Joseph Cheong (112th - $14,900) and David Chen (75th - $16,500), and Triton ambassador Danny Tang (99th - $14,900).
Back-to-back World Series of Poker (WSOP) Ladies Event champion Shiina Okamoto was looking for another big run just days after winning the EPT Barcelona Women's Event, but her run ended in 70th place as her small ace was dominated by the Big Slick of Weiran Pu.
Another notable in the field, poker gorilla Jesse Lonis, bagged a top-three stack on Day 1B and added more chips early on Day 2 before ultimately losing a flip with ace-queen to the pocket eights of Yuefeng Pan.
There were highlights both off and on the feature table, and one of the latter including a set-up hand where Igor Yaroshevskyy flopped Broadway against Sergei Petrushevskii's set of aces, only to be turned dead as the board paired. Both players slow-played trying to trap the other and Yaroshevskyy couldn't avoid paying off a river raise to lose a decent portion of his stack.
The eliminations of fan-favorite Ren Lin and Japan's Naohiro Matsuda in 18th place and 17th place, respectively, marked the end of Day 2 as the final two tables were formed.
Day 3 will kick off at noon local time (around 1 p.m. on stream) on Monday, Sept. 8 and will play down to a winner, who will earn $1,367,000 and the honor of being named the first-ever Triton ONE Main Event champion.
There are 9 minutes and 47 seconds left in Level 26 with blinds of 200,000/400,000/400,000.

Takashi Yagura made it 1,000,000 to go first to act and Dajie Zhuo called on the button. Table short stack Naohiro Matsuda jammed for 1,300,000 in the big blind and both larger stacks called. The two active players checked the Q♣7♥2♥ flop to the 2♦ turn on which Yagura bet 1,000,000 and Zhuo called.
Following the 5♠ river, Yagura checked before he subsequently called a bet of 4,000,000 by Zhuo. All cards were shown with one elimination to go to end the night earlier than scheduled.
Matsuda showed the A♠10♣ and Yagura had that beat with A♥A♦. However, Zhuo was the one to celebrate once again as his 7♣7♦ had flopped a set and turned a full house to score the final elimination of the night. Matsuda bowed out in 17th place for $60,400 and the remaining 16 players are bagging up for the night.

Over on the outer table, Sergei Petrushevskii limped the small blind and Weiran Pu checked one seat over to see a flop of Q♦3♥2♥. Petrushevskii check-raised from 400,000 to 1,300,000 and Pu added the chips to see the 6♣ on the turn. Petrushevskii checked once again, then called Pu's bet of 2,500,000.
On the 4♣ river, Petrushevskii check-called another 4,100,000 and Pu tabled the 6♦2♦ for two pair only for Petrushevskii to reveal his slow-played Q♠Q♥ for a set of queens.
