Like Luniz, Greenstein has got Five on it

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Barry Greenstein
Barry Greenstein

Barry Greenstein raised to 8,000 preflop and Karl-Fredrik Stromberg, a Rational Group Staff member, moved all in for 31,000. Greenstein weighed up the options before making a somewhat reluctant call.

Greenstein: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Stromberg: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

The board came {2-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Greenstein spiked his set to send Stromberg out. Greenstein is now over 200,000 in chips.

Bull Slaughtered

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Robbie Bull
Robbie Bull

Former UKIPT London champion Robbie Bull moved all in from middle position for about 30,000 and Mate Mecs shoved behind him.

Bull flipped {4-Clubs}{4-Spades} and was delighted to see he was racing against Mec's {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}. No doubt he was less happy to see the board come {A-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{6-Spades} causing the Scot's elimination.

Oliver Deacon
Oliver Deacon

Oliver Deacon got all his chips in the middle with {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} on a board reading {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{k-Spades} but lost out to Christopher Jonat who held {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}. Deacon was eliminated for a £2,375 prize.

Ellwood Gives Mecs a Spin

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Dahe Liu opened for 8,000 and was called on the button by Jack Ellwood. Mate Mecs shoved for his last 55,000 and Liu folded after some thought, perhaps fearful of Ellwood’s stack still to act behind him. Ellwood shrugged and made the call with {j-Spades}{9-Spades} up against the {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}. The flop was {9-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and Mecs’ heart was surely in his mouth. A turn {k-Diamonds} gave him a better two pair however and the harmless {4-Hearts} on the river more than doubled him up.

Eliminating Risk

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Nick Abou Risk
Nick Abou Risk

Folded around to Christopher Jonat in the small blind he asked Nick Abou Risk how much he had left. "Not much," was the answer and Jonat moved all-in getting instantly called by Abou Risk with {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}. It was a race against the {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} of Jonat but the flop {2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} all but sealed it and Abou Risk was out when the final cards fell {4-Hearts} and {7-Spades}.

Heading For the Finish Line

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Chris Straghalis
Chris Straghalis

With just over half an hour of play to go until we finish up day 2 the action has understandably slowed down a little and the relief in the room is palpable. The players know they are very close to making the next day; they are already in the money and can afford to relax just a bit.

Chris Straghalis, Rational Group Staff, has certainly enjoyed playing with Barry Greenstein. Well, to a certain extent. Folded around to Greenstein in the small blind Straghalis said there was no shame in a walk, but Greenstein went ahead and raised him anyway. Straghalis checked his cards and showed his junk had {8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Greenstein returned the favour and showed a genuine hand {a-Spades}{7-Spades}.

Deadman Walking

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Simon Deadman
Simon Deadman

Harry Lodge doubled up against Simon Deadman when all the money went in on a flop {k-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Deadman had {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} but Lodge flopped a set with {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and the river {2-Spades} and Lodge doubled up.

Deadman busted soon after.
