Psychic Razavi

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Sam Razavi raised and was three bet from the button by Christopher Jonat. The blinds folded and Razavi moved all in for 109,000 more. Jonat had a big decision and Razavi started the chat. “I put you on ace jack. Obviously I can’t put you on an exact hand. OK, ace of hearts, jack of clubs.” That seemed to be enough for Jonat as he showed the {a-Hearts} and folded. Razavi showed his cards {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and it looks like Jonat made a good fold.

Warfvinge Knocked Out

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Peter Warfvinge
Peter Warfvinge

Richard Milne opened to 15,000 preflop and Peter Warfvinge reraised all in for about 120,000 in the big blind. Milne made a speedy call.

Milne: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Warfvinge: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}

The board came {4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{J-Hearts} knocking out the Swede and leaving 24 players (and three tables) left.

McLellan Shows up with Kings

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Alexander Schilt opened for 16,000 and was raised by Duncan McLellan to 42,000. To his left, Adam Topping moved all in for 150,000. Schilt got out of the way and Mclellan made the call. Topping turned over his {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and was stunned to see the {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} of McLellan. Schilt said he folded tens. The board ran out {q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Topping had made a straight to survive. Chris Straghalis who had just joined the table observed, “So you’re not invulnerable.” We’ll find out over the next few hours.

Set over Set Troubles

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Sam Razavi
Sam Razavi

On a {J-Spades}{6-Clubs}{A-Spades} flop, Sam Razavi checked and Christopher Jonat bet 20,000. Razavi check-raised to 56,000 but as soon as the latter's chips went over the line, Jonat announced he was all in and Razavi called instantly.

Razavi: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Jonat: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

The {3-Clubs} turn and {8-Diamonds} river changed nothing and Razavi picked up a big double.

Chmiel Takes Brutal Beat

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

We missed the action on the feature table but Tomasz Chmiel has apparently been knocked out while holding {A-}{A-}. Dahe Liu was the assassin with {A-}{J-} and managed to hit a broadway straight on a {K-}{Q-}{X-}{10-}{X-} board.

Phillips Survives

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Christopher Phillips
Christopher Phillips

Jamie O'Connor opened for 12,000, got called by Sam Razavi and the big blind Christopher Phillips. They saw a flop of {6-Hearts}{q-Spades}{6-Spades}. Phillips checked and pre-flop aggressor O’Connor continued for 27,000. Razavi folded and Phillips grimaced, agonising on what to do. He just didn’t have enough behind to call, so he moved all in for not much more. O’Connor called and showed {5-Spades}{7-Spades} for the flush draw but it was Phillips who was at risk with his {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} top pair. No spade came though as it went turn {k-Clubs} river {a-Diamonds}. Phillips doubled up.

Mecs Doubles Up

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

A big double for Mate Mecs. He was all in preflop with {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} against Dahe Liu's {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and the board came {Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts} to double him up to 263,000.

Handley Done

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
John Handley
John Handley

Mark Handley moved all in from the cut-off for his last 69,000. Sam Razavi on the button looked at the blinds who were still to act and contemplated a call. He passed however and Christopher Jonat instantly made the call from the small blind. Big blind folded and the cards were turned over. Handley was the player at risk and showed {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} versus the {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} of Jonat. Always a sweat as the flop came {10-Clubs}{q-Spades}{6-Clubs} but the turn {4-Spades} river {9-Clubs} eliminated Handley.
