Play has wrapped up for both Day 1c and the turbo Day 1d flight of the Unibet DeepStack Open Marrakech main event. After nearly thirteen hours of play inside the luxurious Casino de Marrakech at Es Saadi Resort, French player Nafis Dundar bagged the biggest stack, finishing the night with 670,000. Not far behind him are Ali Alawadhi (564,000) and "Adriii" (555,000).

Dundar was under the radar for most of the day before emerging as one of the chip leaders in the later stages of the evening. The French player's best tournament cash is €5,450, which can easily be surpassed in this event should he make a deep run in Day 2 and 3.
Alawadhi is no stranger to running deep in these sorts of events, with over $700,000 in career tournament earnings that include a final table at the World Series of Poker in 2010 and a win in a high roller event in Marrakech in 2019. "Adriii" has also enjoyed success in Marrakech, having won the Marrakech Poker Open event earlier this year for MAD 770,000 (approximately €72,200). "Adriii" was consistently fighting for pots throughout the day but never gave too much away when he was beat. The French player will certainly be one to watch during tomorrow's Day 2.
Other notables to find a bag at the end of the night include Karim Lehoussine (400.000) Sonny Franco (169,000) and Said El-Yousfi (130,000). Notables who weren't so fortunate to advance to Day 2 include Aurelie Reard and Unibet Sponsored MMA fighter "GregMMA".
The four day 1 flights have created a total field of 752 players, of which 161 remain. Information pertaining to the prize pool and seat draw will be available before the start Day 2.
Day 2 of the main event begins at 1 p.m. local time on October 7th, 2023. As always, stay tuned to PokerNews for a brand new day of action tomorrow at the 2023 Unibet DeepStack Open Marrakech.
Play has concluded for Day 1c of the main event. A total of 58 players advanced from the 289-entrant field.
Stay tuned for a full list of chip counts and recap of the evening that will follow shortly.

The Tournament Staff have announced there will be four more hands before the end of the day.
Adil Oubaaous opened to 8,000 from under the gun and received calls from "Adriii" in the cutoff, Youssef Hicham on the button and Jean-Pierre Grand-Moursel in the big blind.
The flop came J♦4♠2♥. Action checked around to "Adriii" who bet 15,000. Hicham and Grand-Moursel got out of the way while Oubaaous made the call.
Both players checked the 2♦ turn leading to the 4♥ river. Oubaaous checked, "Adriii" bet 15,000 again, but this time Oubaaous raised to 60,000. "Adriii" opted to fold and Oubaaous took down a nice pot without showdown.
Oubaaous showed the J♣ as he scooped the pot.
