Bruno Lopes, also known as 'Kool Shen', took down the Winamax SISMIX Main Event in 2016 for 850,000 MAD ($87,081), and last year finished second in the High Roller. This year he's back and has taken his seat in the Main Event towards the end of the second level of the day.
In his very first hand, he was in the big blind and received a walk. Looks like the former champion will be getting the respect of his tablemates today!
Winamax Team Pro Leo Margets was on hand to announce the shuffle up and deal earlier today, and is now seated in the Main Event. she is seated at the same table as Bruce Grannec. Grannec won the 2009 and 2013 editions of the FIFA Interactive World Cup to be officially crowned the world's best FIFA player.
We'll have to wait and see whether Margets tangles with him at the table!
Also in the field is 2017 Winamax SISMIX final tablist Rakesh Lalwani, who also finished 14th in the 2015 SISMIX Main Event. He'll no doubt be eyeing up another deep run here in Marrakech.

In 2016, Day 1b of the Winamax SISMIX attracted 294 entrants. Last year, in 2017, there was a slight drop to 269 players.
This year, however, there are 236 players as we approach the end of Level 1! A reminder that there are ten levels of late registration and single re-entry, which means that the 2016 number is well within reach of being smashed, just like the Day 1a record yesterday.
There are already 178 players registered on Day 1b of the Winamax SISMIX Main Event, and players in the Main Event have a series of special prizes to keep an eye out for.
The first eliminations on each Day 1 will receive entry to Saturday evening's hyper-turbo event. Later in the tournament, the bubble boy will receive an entry into next year's Winamax SISMIX event.
If you have a Winamax Team Pro at your table and you eliminate them, not only do you win a special commemorative button stating that you knocked them out, but you also win a bottle from the TheatrO nightclub during the SISMIX.
There is also a bad beat jackpot; if you lose with quads or better you will win entry into next year's Winamax Sismix event. And, if that wasn't enough, there is a good beat jackpot as well! If you make a straight flush with both the cards in your hand, you win a bottle from the TheatrO nightclub during the Sismix.
