Pelton's Straight Bests Two Pair

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Chan Pelton checked a {q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{10-Spades} board from the small blind, and Ben Keeline bet 700 in the big blind into a pot of 1,000. A player under the gun raised to 2,500, and both Pelton and Keeline called.

Action checked to the under-the-gun player on the {6-Spades} river, and he bet 6,000. Pelton called, and after his opponent tabled {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for top two pair, Pelton rolled over {9-Clubs}{8-Spades} for the bottom-end of the straight and the winner.

Top Pair Good for Hardin

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Four players were in the process of having their 600-chip preflop commitment pulled into the middle prior to a flop of {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}. The small blind checked, as did the player who was under the gun. Ryan Hardin was in middle position and threw out a bet of 1,100. The final player to act was on the button and folded, as did the small blind.

Action was then back on the under-the-gun player, who called. The turn came {7-Spades} and Hardin saw the under-the-gun player check. He bet 2,000 and got another call. Both players checked the river {10-Hearts} and the dealer asked for players to turn up their hands.

Hardin waited a few moments for his opponent to table his hand before taking the initiative and showing {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for a pair of aces. His opponent tapped the table and mucked his hand, resulting in the pot being sent Hardin's way.

Meanwhile, Kami Hudson had just recently sat down on Hardin's right and has already chipped up to an even 30,000,

O'Haver Cracks Queens

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Randy O'Haver had a bet of 3,000 in front of him from early position facing a {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop, and his opponent on the button responded with a shove for around 18,000, which O'Haver quickly called.

Opponent: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Randy O'Haver: {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

After the {4-Clubs} fell on the turn, O'Haver was looking to fade a queen, nine, eight or four to earn the elimination, and he did just that when the {a-Clubs} completed the board on the river.

Turn Bet Works for Webster

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

A player in middle position opened the action with a raise to 600 and received calls from Simon Webster in the cutoff as well as the player on the button.

"Three players," the dealer said as he fanned a flop of {7-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades}. The original raiser checked. Webster bet 700 and was called by the player on the button. The original raiser folded and action proceeded heads up to the turn {6-Hearts}.

Webster fired another 2,300 and his opponent quickly folded, resulting in the pot being sent his way. Webster is another player off to a fast start, boasting a stack of more than double what he started with before the first break of the day.

Thornton Lapping the Field Early

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

After four players had limped into the pot in front of him, Schuyler Thornton raised to 2,000 from the big blind. Only a player in middle position made the call.

Action checked through a {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{q-Spades} board, and Thornton said, "Just ace-king," before turning up the aforementioned {a-Spades}{k-Spades}. His opponent mucked, and Thornton added to his stack, which already sits at more than three times the starting stack just over two levels into the day.

Lozano Makes Right Call On River

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

There was about 3,500 in the pot on a board of {8-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and the hijack was in the process of making a bet of 2,100. Juan Lozano was on the button and thought for a few moments before throwing out chips to call.

The hijack tabled {4-Clubs}{4-Spades} and the dealer announced two pair, kings and fours. Lozano then turned over {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} for two pair, kings and nines, and the dealer sent him the pot.

Gamble Gifted an Early Double

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante
Nathan Gamble
Nathan Gamble

2017 $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo WSOP bracelet winner Nathan Gamble was seen with a huge stack of yellow T1,000 chips in front of him and shared the context of his double.

A player limped in from middle position and Gamble saw action folded to him on the button afterward. He limped behind and both blinds checked, taking action four ways to the flop {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Both blinds and the player in middle position checked to Gamble, who bet 300 and received two folds and a call from the middle-position player.

The turn came {6-Hearts} and Gamble's last remaining opponent checked to him. He fired another 1,100 forward and his opponent check-raised all in for 21,100. Gamble called.

Nathan Gamble: {3-}{3-}
Opponent: {5-}{4-}

Gamble's flopped set was ahead of his opponent's turned open-ended straight draw as he found himself needing to fade eight outs for an early double. The river was safe for him, giving him an early double and putting him near the top of the chip counts early in Day 1a.

Sengphet's Aggression Works

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

A player raised to 500 on the button, and three-time WSOP Circuit Ring winner La Sengphet three-bet to 3,000 in the small blind. The big blind folded, and the button thought for a few moments before tossing in a call.

Both players checked the {a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, and the {9-Diamonds} fell on the turn. Sengphet quietly placed a single 5k chip in the pot, and her opponent wasted little time in folding.
