Gytis Lazauninkas Leads; Daniel Negreanu Still in the Mix as Day 3 of $25,000 Super Main Event Begins at 12 PM

History is in the making as Day 3 of the first-ever $25,000 WSOP Super Main Event resumes at noon local time here at Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas.

Some 207 players advanced to Day 3 of the Super Million Main Event (along with 90 online players), including chip leader Gytis Lazauninkas and other top-ten stacks including Germany's Sirzat Hissou, Spain's Juan Pardo and former PokerStars ambassador Liv Boeree in a rare appearance on the felt.

Daniel Negreanu remains in contention with a healthy stack of 5,795,000. The poker legend has also been documenting his World Series of Poker Paradise journey through a daily vlog, sharing his quest for the Super Main Event gold bracelet on YouTube.

Other notables still in the field include, Joseph Cheong (8,270,000), David Peters (7,485,000), Chris "Big Huni" Hunichen (6,925,000), Ren Lin (4,495,000), Erik Seidel (4,443,000), and Chris Moneymaker (3,580,000).

Day 3 action will pick up at the start of Level 17 with blinds of 40,000/80,000/80,000. Each returning player has locked up at least $50,000, while $6 million sits up top for the eventual champion.

The K43 flop gave Eibinger two pair to take the lead, the 6 turn gave Shak an open-ended straight draw but the 9 river meant he was headed to the cage to collect his $50,000 min-cash.

Lynskey Denies Davies a Triple Up

Seth Davies came into the day as one of the short stacks and moved all in for 360,000 in middle position. Matas Cimbolas called from the hijack and Alex Lynskey three-bet to 1,100,000 on the button. Cimbolas got out of the way and then provided commentary on the showdown.

The flop came QJ7 and Davies' outs turned from three to four as Cimbolas would say. The 10 on the turn and the 8 on the river were not enough for Davies who was eliminated.

Daniel Negreanu opened in the cutoff and Anatoly Zlotnikov called on the button.

Negreanu continued for 205,000 on the flop of 369 and Zlotnikov called. Negreanu then sized up to 350,000 on the J turn and Zlotnikov again called.

Negreanu checked on the 2 river and Zlotnikov checked back. Negreanu revealed the 9 for a pair of nines as Zlotnikov turned over QJ to win the pot.

Kosk Applies Big Stack Pressure on Gierse, Flips Hanusi to the Rail

Mate Hanusi moved all in for 750,000 in early position and Marius Gierse called in the hijack. Ermo Kosk then reraised to 2,500,000 in the small blind, forcing Gierse from the pot and leaving Kosk heads-up with a chance to bust Hanusi.

Hanusi was racing with a chance to triple up, but he missed the 107456 board as Kosk's jacks held up to send Hanusi to the rail.

A flop of 862 was spread across the felt with around 500,000 in the middle already. Alex Keating checked from the big blind and Gytis Lazauninkas also checked in middle position. Rania Nasreddine tossed in a bet of 275,000 from the hijack and Keating check-raised to 950,000. Lazauninkas stepped aside but Nasreddine quickly called.

The turn was the 5 and Keating used a time bank before shoving all in for roughly 5,000,000 effective. Nasreddine wasted little time before calling off her stack in what turned out to be a massive pot.

Keating flopped two pair to take the lead on Nasreddine's pocket kings. The 3 on the river bricked out and Nasreddine looked for a payout while Keating stacked a mound of chips.

Zegal Wakes Up With the Nuts to Bust Sturm

Stanislav Zegal and Leon Sturm were heads-up on a board of AKJ8 when Sturm bet 300,000 from under the gun. Zegal then moved all in from the big blind.

Sturm had around 850,000 remaining and used four time banks as he considered the decision for several minutes. He eventually called off his last chips with A9, but Zegal turned over Q10 for the nut straight.

Sturm was already drawing dead by the 3 river as the defending champion scored the knockout.

Lococo had picked up queens in the small blind, but Haynie showed down a pair of aces in middle position. The board ran out 7KK5J and Haynie secured the big pot.

The stacks were counted down and Haynie had Lococo's remaining 3,500,000 barely covered, sending the newly-crowned WSOP bracelet winner to the rail.
